I do understand some people's rage, but Trump won't make them feel better. it's like the brief satisfaction a mass shooter gets from killing a bunch of people he want's to get back at. Then there's the rest of his life (or death).

there is no hope. We have yet to do what we are capable of thanks to Republicans and Manchin. There's a lot we can do if majority rule could really take hold in this country.

The problem with China of course is that it's a dictatorship so the people can't stop if from destroying the planet. Russia too. Let's not become one of them.

Democrats gotta learn, because the other side learned and is doing what they can to repeat that disaster.

That only benefitted the rich, and Uncle Vlad.

Just in case they forget, here's the GOP "platform":
https://democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=18813308

• Government dictates what you read, your religion and your private life. Period trackers mandatory, and report to the government.

• Devastating climate change.

• A deadly all-out war on the rights of women.

• More welfare for the rich.

• Americans pitted against each other along lines of race, color, religion, gender, sexuality, and income. Vilification of blacks, Jews, Muslims, lgbtq+ , homeless, and women of strength, with increasing violence, even murder against them.

• Private health care companies deny needed treatments to save money. (Death panels are here!)

• The wealthy pay even less in taxes.

• Every civil right is eroded by clown judges living in the 18th century rewriting the constitution.

• Worker's rights and benefits reduced in order to create greater profits for businesses.

• Safety nets removed, so that homeless, and jobless people are left to die on the streets.

• More, more, more of culture war.

• GUNS, everywhere, with no limitations or requirements. Kids get them freely.

• Minorities and women blamed for every imaginable blip.

• Support of authoritarian regimes across the globe, who eagerly imprison, "re-educate", murder and commit atrocities on others.

• Lies, hate speech and threats are welcomed on "social media" and given support by government officials.

• Medical care and prescription drug costs skyrocket. (and more ... )

if Trump wins because people decide not to vote for President Biden?

Do those who say they aren't going to vote for President Biden as a protest ever consider what will happen to them under a Pseudo-Christian facist nation run by Trump?

Again what good will it do Gaza, if we throw away our democracy and likely make things worse not only for them, but likely the entire world.

Al Gore definitely nailed it when he titled one of his books, "The Death of Common Sense."

will win or not. None of us that I know of are clairvoyant. Look how many of us believed Hillary Rodham Clinton would win by a landslide and we got Trump.

We have to do everything in our power to ensure Biden wins, because any other outcome is too big a chance to take for not only the U.S., but every nation around the world that isn't already ruled by vicious thugs like Putin.

Many said the same thing in 2016, remarking how the blue wall had stood for however many years (decades?) and they thought they could throw away their vote in states that actually decided the election.

Never mind the fact that it's stupid to begin with. Who is gonna believe someone that says, "oh, I live in California and the Democrat is obviously gonna win so I'm not gonna vote for them, I'm gonna vote for Mickey Mouse as a protest, but you, you in a state that matters, you should vote for them!" Yeah, that's a real strong show of support there. Real persuasive. Surely to win over voters in states that do matter. Won't dissuade them at all. Nope. Not one bit.

I said it before and I'll keep saying it: anyone not voting for Biden in 2024 is supporting Trump -- PERIOD.

Again none of us can be certain of the outcome in November because we are not psychic.

The only thing I am 100 percent certain of is tfg is a psychotic narcissist who has shown us every day how little regard he has for anyone else who isn't willing to bow down and worship at his feet. I just don't think doing anything to lessen Biden's chances of beating Trump is in the best interests of anyone other than Trump and his minions.

It kind of reminds me of the stories of people who ignore warnings a natural disaster is possible, but don't make any safety plans & preparations because they think having faith that nothing bad is going to happen to them is protection enough.

Hey if they survive any way that's great, but the possibility they won't is equally strong. What's wrong with being prepared to confront the worst if it happens? If it doesn't that's great. Being prepared in my book will be a lot less costly than not being prepared, if it does.

I don't look at it as a punishment. I look at as being realistic enough to know that either the best or the worst will happen, and that either way it's better to be ready for either outcome.

Any way I am done discussing it because in the end people will make their own decisions. All I know is I am voting Biden period, because Trump is an evil piece of shit, who should never be allowed in the White House again.

Instead, their refusing to vote for Hillary hurt women (Roe was killed by the Republican Supreme Court), hurt those with student loan debt ($10k-$20k student loan debt cancellation killed by the Republican Supreme Court), hurt legal asylum seekers/migrants (look at all the shit the Trump administration pulled there), our democracy (no explanation needed), etc.

There's no end to the number of people that were hurt by that same short-sighted and ignorant approach to voting in 2016 and it will be even worse if people take the same stance in 2024.

People who conceptualize politics in such simplistic ways, and who cannot think strategically (rather than emotionally) have a below average IQ, or they're simply very selfish individuals who seek instant gratification and who aren't willing to work for what's important, who aren't willing to wait, who aren't capable of accepting incremental progress and seeing that it's actually progress, and who continually embrace the "all or nothing" philosophy. And guess what that always gets them! Nothing.
