Corporate greed is causing most of the increase in inflation.

Meme:

"General Mills just paid a $300 million dividend to investors, bought back $150 million in stock the enrich executives and investors, and pays its CEO $16 million.

It makes profits of $2.1 billion a year. It is raising prices on cereals 20% and blaming "inflation".

What Swing Voters Care About
April 11, 2024 at 11:56 am EDT By Taegan Goddard 71 Comments

The Economist: “Swing voters do not view this year’s election as Republicans would like them to: immigration is not the most important issue for them. Neither do they view it as Democrats wish. Their most important issue is not the defense of democracy, climate policy, or abortion. It is inflation, which remains sticky , followed by the economy.”

“Politics is less central to the lives of swing voters than it is to news hounds and committed partisans. They may not know much about Mr Biden’s position on natural gas or North Korea, but they do know that eggs are expensive and driving to work costs too much.”

Stocks like Kimberly Clark, Proctor &Gamble and other stocks paying dividends. Where’s it different from what they’ve been paying us investors for years?

They are PRICE GOUGING - deliberately and artificially keeping prices high to benefit Trump and the GOP - because with them in control, corporations and the wealthy elite would get away with paying zero taxes, and henchmen like Trump's Mick Mulvaney would be able to continue dismantling consumer protections.

"It's time to stop pretending this case is anything but a brazen power grab by corporate criminals and their loyal bagmen," one researcher said of a payday lender trade association's attack on the CFPB's funding structure.

OP-ED: Mick Mulvaney’s assault on consumer finances and the CFPB is illegal as well as wrong Donald Trump is ignoring the Dodd-Frank law Congress wrote to prevent this.

I'm not happy about today's raising prices, for sure. I did notice that this was quoted as far back as Dec 2021, so just making a point that this isn't a new story.
