Sales tax on menstruation products.

I remember that some states charge a state sales tax. There are 21 states that impose a state sales tax.

Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kansas, West Virginia, Idaho, South Carolina, Kentucky, Arizona, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Utah, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Missouri, Hawaii, Alabama, Georgia, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

A sales tax is non-specific. You buy something, it is taxed. Your OP implies that it is imposed on menstruation products only. Not so. It would cover diapers, baby food and other baby products (if this is an abortion OP) or jock straps, razor blades and whatever else men buy (if this is a feminist OP).

I don't know what your agenda is for posting this but it 's falling short for me.

I'm sorry you don't get it.

Other states do not impose a sales tax on menstruation products.

Let me explain. I was furloughed from my job. Still had health benefit, but they didn't cover contraception. I go to the pharmacy to get bc's. They are not covered by my health insurance, they cost $50 for a months worth. I can't afford them. I get pregnant. You do not want me to get started. If women need help with their menstrual needs, give them a break. You have not a clue. Sometimes every penny is needed just to put a roof over your head.

Many states that have sales tax have exempted menstruation related products from sales tax.

These 21 are the ones that do not have such an exemption.

I'm so glad to live in Michigan, which does not tax food, prescription medicines, medical devices, or -- as of February 2022 -- menstrual products. Thanks, Governor Whitmer!!
