"SNIP..........
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) will promote a bill with Donald Trump aimed at preventing non-citizens from voting, USA Today reports.
Johnson will hold a joint press conference with Trump on Friday at the former presidents Mar-a-Lago residence, where the top House Republican will tout the legislation to elevate the issue of non-citizens voting in federal elections.

building a 'retaining wall' to make it look like their election-was-stolen big lie is concrete. Humans build human constructs (human created fictions) in order to bond together and get things done. Think democracies, religion, banking and now Trump's big lie. Trump is building his construct. Are they going to re-edit the Bible too? The King Don version?

(2,493 posts)Donny says all non- citizens can just walk into a voting station and poof, they can vote.
If Donny says it's so, why, that's good enough for me!1!11!

(1,763 posts)In the United States, non-citizens are not allowed to vote in federal elections. This includes elections for the U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and presidential elections. The prohibition was established by a law passed by the U.S. Congress in 1961. Violation of this law can result in a fine, imprisonment for up to one year, or both

(15,743 posts)So yeah, this is a lot of grandstanding and hot air.
I'm a bit surprised non-citizens can vote at all. Seems like a no-brainer benefit of citizenship. Unfortunately Trump will get some traction from the misinformation and spin.

(35,032 posts)It's just more distraction and projection.
Do you know how hard it is to get actual citizens to vote? They know damn well that people who aren't even citizens don't have time for that.
By what mechanism do they think a non-citizen can vote? How would their name magically appear on the voter list? I'll wait.
