Just a few little effortless squeezes of a trigger and people are dropping like flies.
It used to be like that in Australia until the Port Arthur massacre of 1996 that killed 35 people and wounded 23 others, after which more than a million firearms were collected and destroyed.
And now...
A person must have a firearm licence to possess or use a firearm. Licence holders must demonstrate a "genuine reason" (which does not include self-defence) for holding a firearm licence[2] and must not be a "prohibited person". All firearms must be registered by serial number to the owner.
i.e. Today's tragedy in Sydney could have been much, much worse.

It happened this time and they said it was the first time it happened since last time. So maybe it makes him feel better to say it even though its not true.
