As I'm sure it has to many here.
What person with no strong political convictions would want a target painted in their back and their families for the MAGAT lunatics?

(115,790 posts)It takes up a lot of time, and if you aren't paid by your job for the time, it can be a financial hit. There can be health reasons, child care problems, all kinds of reasons for avoiding jury duty. If the case is complicated or controversial the trial will take longer. And if the defendant is Trump or one of his lackeys you might be targeted in some nasty ways.

(2,019 posts)In a somewhat spicy criminal trial where I was second chair, it took half a day to pick a jury. When I was last called up for jury duty where they had 2 criminal cases pending, it was nearly half a day. For a case where you have a massive celebrity that is either idolized or despised, with massive controversy and a need for more than usual alternates, its going to take a while. Thats normal and perfectly fine.

(2,019 posts)As of a bit ago, 6 jurors are cleared. Its going slow with a remarkably large jury pool because its hard to get anyone wholl honestly say they can be completely impartial. Thats fine. Theyll get their jury plus a bunch of alternates. Lots left to go.
