(4,214 posts)Seriously... this is supposed to be a smart guy? This is a guy that went to UC Berkeley , one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world.
If the NFL is truly trying to protect the shield (brand name), then the commissioner needs to bring in this moron because he has some serious explaining to do.
I'll bet that the overwhelming majority of Americans know or are related to someone who has had HIV/AIDS now that the disease has been around for 40 years. That's a lot of potential fans, viewers, customers, that A- Aron done messed up and pissed off.

never got a degree from U.C. Berkeley. I might be wrong but I think he has TBI (traumatic brain injury), the
psycho active drugs he has taken might have done some damage, he thinks he is smart in areas where he knows
nothing, and @ 40 his career is over or just about over. I might be wrong but I look for the Jets to get rid of him
soon besides being an idiot and he has had lots of injuries lately.

(15,303 posts)... to create an environment where there is only one thing that works. If his research taught him that, then there has to be documentation. You can't just look at historical facts and reach a conclusion about what Fauci was told unless you found a document that's telling Fauci to do it. Cite the document.

(39,303 posts)I had High School friends and a teacher that were dead of AIDS really early - '84, '85. I never knew it was actively killing people in Kinshasa prior to WW2.
Rodgers needs to adjust his time frame for this nefarious plot - at least to the '70s. I bet he's got some NIH "Gain of Function" research he's holding up as proof.

(135,003 posts)watching some news segment (do not remember where) that talked about two specfic puzzling (at the time) deaths. The first was a young man in Great Britain who, in the 1940's, became very ill, although doctors could not identify what was wrong. His various doctors treated his symptoms as best they could, but could never find the cause. He died in the early 50's, and the doctor who performed the autopsy preserved various samples, hoping that one day, an answer could be found. As the reports on AIDS started coming out, and finally, the test, he remembered the case in the 50's, and tested the samples. Positive for AIDS.
The second was a prostitute working in SF in the late 50's, early 60's. She became ill with symptoms that could not be identified. The doctor who performed her autopsy also oreserved various samples. Again, when the test became available, this doctor remembered the case. Result: Positive for AIDS.
Again, I apologize for not remembering which news segment, only that it wasvsome time around 1993 or 1994, probably on one of the majors. But I ckearlybremember them saying that the vurus that causes AIDS had been in circulation at least since the 1930's.

(426 posts)the jets have to be regretting their decision to sign this idiot. while he may still be a good QB, he is most certainly a disruptive force in the locker room.

(2,047 posts)It's on Rodgers to demonstrate that people with known names got together to do the sophisticated work in a biologically secure place, also with a known name, needed to modify a virus acquired from the African bush-meat trade into a killer of humans without first killing the people doing the work.
Anyone can float a wild speculation as reality. Low education level conservatives are -ALWAYS- looking for agents/bad guys because in the mind of low education conservatives REALLY BIG BAD EVENTS don't happen without a purposeful agent!
But you know who usually gets blamed? Nope, you're wrong. IT'S NOT ATHEIST SCIENTISTS.
It's GOD ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
Because, God is a very jealous irrationally emotional guy who feels HE MUST punish wayward sinning humans for their propensity to be bad. How else could he -properly- parent the creation made in his own image?

(9,189 posts)and not given him that big contract and instead realized what they could get in the draft this year and then have the money to put good talent around a standout college QB. But there is the smart thing to do and then there are the Jets. They really never occupy the same place in the universe.
MorbidButterflyTat
(4,910 posts)But they gave Rodgers the big contract last off-season. He was gonna be the savior to take them to the Super Bowl in 2023.
Then the Bills shut down his season after 3 or 4 plays into the first game. Now they're stuck with him and his stupid contract. They had no hope for a QB in this year's draft, IMO.
AZ8theist
(7,733 posts)$75Million. 4 plays.
Jets paid $18.75 MILLION for each play.
Smart investment.
MorbidButterflyTat
(4,910 posts)Probably just coincidence.
I saw on NFL Network the Jets General Manager open to trading Zack Wilson. Probably the best thing for him. Then they can draft another QB they'll destroy.

(135,003 posts)spread of AIDS from Africa to the US through US miliary liberty ports. So, not gays, but military service members patronizing prostitutes helped spread it in this country. I just loved pointing that out when people were gay-bashing about AIDS. The silence that followed always amused me.
Was this study accurate? I never went back to check, but it sure amused me with the little reichwing hysterical homophobes.
