Anybody following the jury selection?

Some of it is making me a little uneasy about who they are not excusing. Will the ones they don't excuse go through another questioning process or will this be it?

Yes. They have 7/12 selected and Justice Merchan says at this pace (if it continues) opening arguments hlthe2b Apr 2024 #5

You can't exclude someone because they're an R or a D... can't exclude them for being a Trump/Biden voter.

Can't exclude for watching Fox News or MSNBC

Well... you CAN but you only have a handful of "strikes"

following any of the Trump stuff. I don't like Trump, and I never did like soap operas either.
I"m more interested in policy discussions.

Oh, and at least ONE (possibly two) is an attorney.

This blog has more details--not sure if it is paywalled or not:

Best not to watch too closely. There are professionals who get heart attacks doing this.

So you have a guy who is a leader at his synagogue who listens to msnbc and cnn, reads the nyt and wsj, and has read some of tsf's books.

What category do you put him into?

He could have read those books 20 years ago when tsf had some shine to his brand, but really doesn't like him today. But as a reader of the wsj and nyt, he could be very conservative and sympathetic to tsf. Is he is a member of an orthodox sect vs a reformed sect? That will have a large bearing on his political beliefs.

Maybe he has a gay son or daughter but didn't disclose that. Is he angry or happy about that? Has his wife cheated on him? Has he cheated on his wife? Is he secretly gay? How does he feel about himself because of that?

See where information, or the lack of it, can really swing your understanding of how a person might think? Or how they might think about tsf?

I'm not going to worry about it until the decision is read. It's not worth the ulcer.........

It's really impossible to know and it's scary to think it only takes one person who is loyal to trump regardless of the evidence presented to get him off the hook for his crimes.
