He then says he believes god created everything. Trolling, stupid or both?
Perhaps a burning bush told him, or an angel. Talking donkey?
I added the link I saw on twitter. I also blocked the bible guy that posted it.

(71,542 posts)kids becoming pedophiles blasting upstairs in my house when my son was a teen. I knocked on his door and said how can you listen to this when your sister is Gay...he opened his mouth then closed it and said you are right Mom, I almost fainted in surprise. My son never listened gain that I know of. I told him if you must listen to that filthy liar, wear headphones. I don't ever want to hear it again. I don't use Spotify because they broadcast his show. Rogan was and is forbidden in our house.

No evidence? Well, you little impotent fuck, theres no evidence that youre even a human being. I think youre a toadstool which acquired semi-sentient attributes. You are coalesced algae and spores. Id rather crap broken glass than hear another word uttered by you.

(1,602 posts)"It's only a theory." Yeah. This tells me off the bat one of two things: Either you know nothing whatsoever about science, or you do know and are trying to use the colloquial usage of "theory" to mislead people.
Darwin. He and Wallace didn't invent evolution. They discovered it. They absolutely did not think at the time that they knew everything there was to know about evolution. The proposed mechanism, Natural Selection, is an important factor in evolution, but it's not the only one.
Evolution is an observed fact. It is impossible to believe that Carlson Wasn't taught this at some point in his high priced education.

This is all part and parcel with the Covid denial. In order to make it seem like Covid was just another flu, they have to ignore the fact that the bugs evolve to become more/less dangerous over time.

(25,047 posts)Fundamentalists are forever claiming that the universe was created in six days about 6,000 years ago. This in spite of all kinds of contrary evidence.
If their god is all powerful, why would it need magic? Wouldnt such a being be far more clever and creative than just saying a few words and waving a proverbial magic wand?
Too many people cant handle the complexities of our universe. They want a coloring book explanation for everything.
Higher powers who initiated a universe that builds itself is far more awesome and impressive.

(69,352 posts)That would be frightening and confusing. Their god is stupid, cruel, inconsistent, mean, and insecure because these people created their god in their own image.
I think we can tell a lot about people by the gods - or absence of gods - they choose to follow. People who think of God as forgiving, empathetic, and demanding the same of His followers tend to be forgiving, empathetic people with high standards. Does a person follow the Goddess? Chances are they care about protecting the Earth and they celebrate all of Creation. Atheists tend to be self-reliant people with their own moral code.
The meanies follow a mean god of their own creation.

(2,047 posts)What they knew best was their own 'agency'. They collected food and water and built shelter. These 'good things', to borrow words from Martha Stewart, came from their intentional actions.
When confronted with nature confounding their interests, they interpreted the presence of an opponent. When the bad things went away, they interpreted it as an act of an 'agent' working in their interests.
It's not hard from that point to appreciate how western-style religion originated in the belief that 'god-agents' were responsible for the conditions humans confronted. The friendly agent became perceived as a 'GOD', the unfriendly agent was the leader of the opposition of that god, demons and Satan.
Now, it's quite likely that early human societies involved groups that developed and nourished quid-pro-quo relationships, partly if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours, and partly in the practice of trading things of value. That quid-pro-qup thing is built into all the Abrahamic religions. We sacrifice and we get a reward. Not because GOD told us, but because 'we" interpreted our relationship with the 'good thing' according to our understanding of relationships with 'other'.
And I think that understanding was exploited by a priestly class that turned supplication of "the good thing" with the priests making their livings by mediating our supplications. The sacrifices of believers shifted from 'god-focused' into benefiting priests, but were intended to recieve the QUID from God in return for the Pro of the sacrifice.
As civilization developed, religion transformed under emerging practices in humans. Our lives were dominated by power assymetries between leaders and the led. So 'we' created god-heads that were similar. Consider how the God of western religion is modelled on Monarchy, royal relationships, and a force of "priestly bureaucratics/boyars' who in our hopes, labors to lead us toward the "QUIDs" that they control because they had a monopoly on dealing with the gos and thereby our access to the gods interest in sharing wealth, power, and fulfillment of our wants.
As far as I can see, the structure of religion isn't -reality- of divine origin, but rather is interpretation and creation of supernatural infuence promoted by a scamming, parasitic priestly class, that tells us "how it is" in a manner that serves their interests.

(10,777 posts)There are still a few of us theists left who are able to do "nuance" .
And the more I learn about the universe, the more awestruck I become. Whether by accident or design, our existence is a miraculous gift. We should all try to love each other and make the most of it.

(2,047 posts)The clever ones among them also redefine 'evolution' and 'evidence' and lean into apparent anomalies that underlie what they perceive to be currently held scientific understanding as they define it. Most of these sorts of approaches depend upon both lack of interpretive ability of their authors and supporters and approaches to evidence that produce, perhaps intentionally, misleading applications of rules of argumentation from outside of science.
The most recent approach is called "Intelligent Design". Wherein it's inventor, a lawyer, advocates with semantics tricks, such as suggesting the existence of undemonstrated evidence ("irreducible complexity) and the misapplication of rules of forensic argument. They insist that this non-evidentiary semantic slight ot hand creates doubt- that fully undermes evolutionary theory. But then they fail to ever show the existence of actual biological things that are irreducibly complex or that things which seem to have purpose could only be produced by a designer building into them an inherent 'purpose'.
All they've ever shown is their own failings of interpretive ability when it is applied to complex, highly ordered natural phenomena. Nonetheless they argue from their terribly weak position of understanding that evolutionists interpretation violates the principal of entropy in the laws of thermodynamics. They actually can't demonstrate positive evidence for a cosmic designer.
Instead, they appeal to popular general scientific ignorance and purposeful misinterpretation arising from the failings of their interpretive abilities.
The most UN-educated ones, who make up many of the ones with the loudest presence in society, remain entrenched in baseless theistic notions that biblical creation narratives are, actually, THE real evidence. And that THAT evidence was provided by an infallible the all-powerful all- knowing designer rather than ancient religious story tellers. They are ignore real cultural evidence in the creation narratives in the bible itself. That evidence illustrates that the creation myth was compiled by multiple bible authors' who mashed together differing versions of creation myths that are inconsistent and in conflict with each other, even as presented in the quite short length of the book of genesis.
