Russia Issues Furious Warning After Ukraine Aid Bill

The Kremlin has reacted angrily to news that the U.S. Congress has approved an aid package for Ukraine, warning that it will lead to the "deaths of even more Ukrainians."

On Saturday, the U.S. House of Representatives approved more than $60 billion in aid to Ukraine after the potentially game-changing assistance for Kyiv languished in Congress for months, mired down by political infighting. Lawmakers also approved billions more in aid for other U.S. allies. The Senate will now vote on the package, before it heads to President Joe Biden for sign-off.

The decision "will make the United States of America richer, further ruin Ukraine and result in the deaths of even more Ukrainians, the fault of the Kyiv regime," Kremlin spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, said in remarks reported by Russia's state news agencies.

He wants to fulfill his deranged dreams of what used to be. There are millions of people living in his wake of taking over and I’m pretty sure those people want to live their lives in peace and enjoy what freedoms they have and maybe petition/vote for a better future. I will never understand why there are elected representatives in this country who want to see Putin’s dream come true with their help.

Why does Russia believe the US spending $60 billion will make us richer? And even if it did, why would we object to that?

July 4, 2018:

“Politicians celebrate Independence Day in many ways. Some march in a parade. Some attend a barbecue or watch fireworks,” tweeted Richard Painter, an ethics lawyer in President George W. Bush’s administration who is running for the Senate in Minnesota as a Democrat. “But others must travel further to meet with their most important constituents.”

Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala.) led the eight-member delegation on a multiday tour of St. Petersburg and Moscow, a trip that included meetings with Russia’s foreign minister and parliamentarians. It did not include a session that senators had been hoping for: a meeting with Putin, whom President Trump is scheduled to meet at a summit this month.

Joining Shelby were Sens. Steve Daines (R-Mont.), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), John Kennedy (R-La.), Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) and John Thune (R-S.D.), and Rep. Kay Granger (R-Tex.).
Members of the delegation set off on their trip late last week promising to be tough with Russian officials ahead of the president’s visit, especially on matters of election interference. But they struck a conciliatory tone once there: The point of their visit, Shelby stressed to the Duma leader, was to “strive for a better relationship” with Moscow, not “accuse Russia of this or that or so forth.”

Putin’s secret rant (I conveniently translated):

Here I was, minding my own business, blasting this former colony to bits because it wouldn’t surrender. Then, along comes this former adversary, with whom we were at peace (kinda, sorta), and doing lots of business, getting all bleeding heart libbrul on me, and providing defensive weapons to the former colony, and for no other reason than that they wanted to stay independent. So I paid off a bunch of their more feeble-minded (or financially challenged) politicians, got a bunch of them to do what I wanted, and now they’re voting against me again! Do they I have unlimited black funds? There are other corrupt politicians in this world besides just Republicans, you know!

Politics is about compromise. House Russiapublicans were not engaging in politics, but rather providing aid and comfort to murderous Putin.
