Melania Trump today launched another product to grift off the tapped out MAGA faithful. She has sold NFTs and Christmas ornaments at exorbitant prices since leaving the White House, now she is out with a customizable necklace to commemorate Mother's Day.

The necklace went on sale on Melania's website this morning for the bargain price of just $245.00. You are allowed to have it engraved with a name, initials or date to make it "one-of-a-kind."

But wait, there's more ...

The website states that anyone who purchases a necklace will also receive, free of charge, a limited-edition Melania digital collectable. The best part though is that Melania's signature is engraved on the back. It is also advertised as genuine gold vermeil.

Is vermeil real gold?

Yes - gold vermeil is considered real gold! For jewelry to be legally regarded as gold vermeil, there must be a layer of at least 10k gold that is 2.5 micron thick (that is 5x thicker than regular plated gold)! The gold plating is usually electroplated over a sterling silver base.

40 years ago, I bought a 16", 1/4" wide 14kt. Gold herringbone chain for $200. There is close to one ounce of gold in it. I have had the chain appraised at over $2,000 at a local Jewelry store the other week.

The Black Hills Gold Slider I bought in 2005 at a Gold Diggers store in Deadwood, SD for $125 is now worth over $550. I get a lot of compliments about them.
