Prosecutor Matthew Colangelo told the jury that AMI paid Karen McDougal $150,000 for the rights to her story.

Colangelo said the evidence will show that Donald Trump was informed about the McDougal situation, and that "the defendant desperately did not want this information about Karen McDougal to become public because he was concerned about the election."

Colangelo said David Pecker started "getting antsy and frustrated" because he was concerned Trump wouldn't pay him back for the McDougal pay off.

To show good faith with Pecker, Michael Cohen used his cell phone to record a conversation with Trump about the McDougal payment in September of 2016.

The jury will hear that recorded call at trial, Colangelo says.

"Just as Cohen was doing, Pecker also used a middleman to hide the true nature of the transaction," Colangelo said.

The prosecutor said that Pecker eventually told Cohen that the "deal was off" and that AMI would "eat the cost" of paying McDougal.

11. The OP talked about TFG paying a tabloid and just that specific thing was

what I meant. I thought I recalled way back someone reported that Pecker complained TFG never paid him back for McDougal.

And though I've seen other catch and kill stuff reported in vague terms, I don't recall any of them including specifics of a Trump repayment. There were allusions to one hand washing the other/symbiosis/mutually beneficial/etc. Of course, it is certainly possible I missed it; can't say I monitor that sort of thing slavishly.

The Stormy payments were not part of what I meant as they were through Cohen, not a tabloid. But yes, there the documents are public already.

Sounds like he wanted the story under wraps until after the election, so he got pecker to do a catch and kill, but convinced him to front the money, promising reimbursement but oh it's complicated and I'm so busy and he has to do it so it can't be traced back to him and surprise surprise, he didn't pay by election time and after that he didn't care to pay so he stiffed him.

Not sure I have the facts and timing right but it sure sounds like his business model. Use, abuse, and discard. Which is why there's a list a mile long of people and businesses who refuse to ever fo business with him again.

Then getting an exclusive to that story. Paying the sex partner for the story. Getting them to sign an NDA.

Then refusing to run the story in order to protect and insulate candidate trDUMP from the damage his hot and racy infidelities might cause his presidential campaign.


There was a concern the Bible thumper who intended to vote for trDUMP IN 2016 might abandon ship and refuse to vote for trDUMP if his many infidelities became public knowledge.

The $150K payment to the Playboy Bunny and the $130K payment to the porn star were written off as business legal expenses and were deducted off trDump business taxes.

But in reality they should have been a non-deductible campaign expense to conceal the trDUMP naughty excursions of sexual infidelities.

Surprise,.. surprise,... trDUMP made a fraudulent bookkeeping entry to conceal the fact that his penis was doing the naughty but he had the audacity to charge it off on the US taxpayer's dime.

trDUMP not only fucked the ladies but he fucked Uncle Sam, he fucked the State of New York, plus he fucked New York City taxation authorities and finally he fucked the general public.

All to hide the fact that trDUMP's dick was again being very naughty.
