I won't give up on Israel either, but Nuttyahoo needs to go and the sooner the better.

(19,738 posts)They had a heck of a lot of elections recently and yet Netanyahu still ended up PM. That is their choice, and choices like that have consequences which are not always salubrious (think America choosing Bush to be in office for 9/11 and aftermath, or TFG to be in office during Covid -- how did that work out for America's people, economy, alliances, foreign influence). RW politics poisons everything, yes, and more so in times of crisis.
As for reconciliation, in general it requires willing parties on both sides of whatever the divide in question is. So where can one find the prospect of that in this case, that is a question...

(9,148 posts)Sadly, there's no coming back from this for Israel, at least for the foreseeable future. What a fucking mess. Netanyahu is going to take his place amongst some of the worst genocidal "leaders" in history. No, he's not at the level of a Hitler or a Stalin, but the evil he has unleashed upon the world is truly breathtaking.
