James Comer Privately 'Fed Up' and 'Done With' the Biden Impeachment Probe and Desperate for an Off Ramp: CNN

Publicly, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) — who chairs the House Oversight Committee — has begun to float the idea that the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden may not end with impeachment. And privately, according to a new report, the Kentucky congressman wants the whole thing to be over with entirely. In a CNN feature published Wednesday, correspondents Annie Grayer and Melanie Zanona reported that Comer recently approached an unnamed Republican colleague and told them candidly that he is ready to be “done with” the Biden probe altogether.

“Comer is hoping Jesus comes so he can get out,” an unnamed GOP lawmaker told CNN. “He is fed up.” The congressman insisted to CNN that “the impeachment inquiry is ongoing and impeachment is 100 percent still on the table.” But he was curt in response to a question about whether any of his GOP colleagues voiced frustration to him about the impeachment’s probe’s progress — or lack thereof.

“I don’t even want to talk to you,” Comer told CNN. “If you don’t think they were influence-peddling, there’s nothing to say. My God.” The Oversight Committee’s most recent hearings have not gone well for Comer. In one viral moment, Rep. Jared Moskowitz (R-FL) dared Comer to call an impeachment vote right on the spot. And Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), the committee’s ranking Democrat, has become increasingly combative in recent hearings — also challenging Comer to call the impeachment vote.

But the math simply isn’t on Comer’s side. Republicans can only afford to lose one vote on any given measure in order to pass it. And swing state Republicans do not seem inclined to cast that vote right before their constituents decide their fate. “It’s April. There’s an election in seven months from now,” Rep. Nick LaLota (R-NY) told CNN. “It would be wise for folks to pump the brakes on the legal accusations being made against the two major-party candidates, and I think we’re close enough to the election to allow the people to decide the future.”

You and your ilk pushed this knowing full well there was nothing there. Yet you continued on with the charade because your base ate it up. The problem for you is rational people understood it was political theater and now you’re just a pathetic joke. Live with it you POS.

candidates. One candidate has been accused in the absence of any evidence of wrongdoing, while the other has been charged with 88 counts by multiple prosecutors standing knee-deep in evidence. He follows it up with the ever-lame Republican claim the election should determine who is guilty and who is innocent.

when the reality is; they don’t have ANY evidence of an impeachable offence. Such weasel words. I guess it’s not a good political look to admit the whole thing was just a fabricated sideshow to distract from their own “dear leaders” many crimes and travails…
