This would come from Alito, addressing the more reasonable Supremes: Okay, here it is. You know we outnumber you.You know we can use strict construction to bamboozle the legal scholars for generations. So on this immunity ruling here, this is what we're going to do. We're going to give you an offer you can't refuse. We're not asking much. We just want Trump to have his immunity to put an end to his legal troubles. It will also end any investigations that might lead to our chamber doors. Just like the limited ruling for Bush v. Gore that put Bush in the Oval office, this will be a limited immunity ruling. You give us that and we won't give you the ruling that you all fear.
