Plan B

It’s pretty obvious the rethugs aren’t considering who they will run in November if TSF is incapacitated. Behind closed doors they must be discussing it but as with all things in trump land no one can appear disloyal, so no one can even discuss it openly. And really, it seems like a very strong possibility. I assume they’d shift their whining into high gear, some how declaring it’s unfair, blah, blah. Anyway, the rethugs have really painted themselves into a corner. Better stock up on the popcorn.

1. Republicons dare not speak it's names: schism and demise

The FReak site has discussed it. There is no consensus. Haley has some strength, more than De Santis who is seen as a "great" governor but incompetent on the national stage.

There is a strong diehard streak that will write in tRump's name regardless of who the GOP might put up, if they go to the polls. Add into this groups of conservative voters who think that 90% of the Republicans in Congress are "assistant Democrats" and will be sitting this one out if tRump is not on the ticket.

I think the RepubliCONs will be soundly defeated in November nationwide and statewide. That will result in even more inner turmoil in the GOP, with each wing blaming the other (sensibles vs deplorables). Whichever wing wins will purge the other wing, which will split off. If the moderates (comparatively speaking) win, they will purge the magas or face a donor strike. If magas win, they will purge because of spite and vindictiveness because that is their nature. Plus there will be hordes who flee to join their preferred wing and, of course, donate.

Then one or both branches will eventually die. The tRump party will live a very long time, always shrinking slowly even while gaining some new followers, unless itself schisms. There are plenty of fascists willing to use maga as leverage and for donor bucks, like Bannon, Miller, Gaetz, eMpTy G, Thiel, Abbott, ...

“And we’ll deserve it”. Not sure if that was his exact words, but soon enough he rolled over and became a total sycophant. As have all the rest. I do think he was right back then.

Should be crammed into every commercial opening, more than drugs and insurance ones.
If only to have Lindsay fainting and raging.

Romney surfaced recently, and Haley still gets votes. I do think Romney-Haley will be the ticket. No way Trump is still in the race by July.

5. If Trump descends into obvious dementia by late summer, Haley will make a case for becoming the nominee.

She still gets votes.

Edited to add that I am not hoping for that at all. The media would promote her to high heaven,, and the election would become solely about age.

6. WHY do you assume there's a discussion about how to replace Trump as nominee?

I don't think you understand how much of the RNC and the State Parties have been taken over by Trump followers.
