Yesterday, Time magazine published an in-depth interview with Donald Trump titled How Far Trump Would Go.
Notice that the title is not a question. Its a definitive statement.
Last November, we discussed this topic in a piece I wrote called Frogs Boiled: What Trump is Planning for a
Second Term. I wrote it when we first learned that Trump had posted his plan for a second term, Project 2025,
online and that it was deeply concerning. Trump means to end democracy, and this new piece in Time, which is
lengthy but deserving of your time, confirms that conclusion.
Project 2025 is available online for all to see, billed as Building now for a conservative victory through policy,
personnel, and training. The website reveals the Project is coordinated through the conservative Heritage
Foundation, helmed by three smiling white men and inviting people who land there to sign up so they can stay
in touch.
Some of this, to be clear, is about traditional conservative policy. Other pieceslike the idea of transforming the
ranks of career public servants into party loyalistsare disturbing. And over it all lingers the question: how much
worse do these cold policy prescriptions look in Donald Trumps hands?

Appears this TIME article is warning us not to vote for Fascism. I'll gonna buy as many copies as I can find and
give them away to select individuals. " Read this great stuff about how easily TSF is getting back in the
White House" With him on the cover, Rs are dying to read about how great he is!

I doubt he'll win either...like the nation is just going to roll over and be happy with fascism instead of democracy, what the founding of the nation was all about.

(14,352 posts)But from a personal perspective, I don't like the cover treatment.
It is clearly meant to attract both sides. "How far would he go?" with a picture of a resolute Trump.
To anti Trump voters that harbour all kinds of nefarious implications and warnings.
But to pro Trump voters, it seems like a battle cry. As in: "Finally we have a leader with courage to do what needs to be done and will go as far as it takes to Make America Great Again!" The cover and even the article contents will be very agreeable to his base. And will actually legitimize his Fascist policies as something that even Time magazine has to acknowledge and give weight to. Its just a louder megaphone (or "magaphone" ) to get his message out. True Believers actually WANT everything that Time lists as Trump's priorities. Its an ad and confidence booster for them, and for Trump who sees all publicity as good publicity its great!

(24,695 posts)to do the things Trump says he will do, someone would have done it a long time ago.
