A second Trump term may be frightening, but President Joe Biden is just too old to be reelected, says comedian Jon Stewart.
"I know liberals say, 'Don't say Joe Biden is old' don't say what people see with their own eyes," Stewart said of the 81-year-old president. "I know you know how fucking old he is, and I know you don't want to say it because Trump is so scary, but he's so fucking old."
"When you watch him on television, you're nervous, aren't ya?" Stewart continued.

(22,456 posts)...but, saying straight out that Biden "should not be President", with this particular election coming, and with everything that is at stake if trump happens to get into the whitehouse again, makes me think that stewart is dangerously irresponsible at best or maliciously anti-American at worst.

he can't keep his trap shut, even to save democracy. Yeah, he's rich. He'd be ok under another orange blobfather presidency, just like Bill Maher and Jerry Seinfeld opined. Yeah, you're all rich enough to buy your way through it. But, what about us peons who actually work for a living?!? Or LGBTQIA folks? Women who need healthcare?
Fuck off, Jon Stewart. Fuck you! Fuck you! Fuck you.

(1,732 posts)Younger would be better, but it's not disqualifying by itself. Trump is a few years younger, but he shows more signs of progressive dementia than Biden does. So, just going on age alone, both candidates are too old. The time to discuss this is past.
PatSeg
(53,211 posts)Joe Biden has been a very successful president and much of that is due to his vast experience and excellent judgment. There was a younger version of Biden at one time, who was more energetic and articulate, but this slower, calmer Biden is doing an extraordinary job. We are lucky to have him.
I agree, the time to discuss this is past and I cannot believe Stewart brought it up again. He got lot of flack for going after Biden's age when he first came back to The Daily Show. I thought he had made amends, but apparently not. I'm very disappointed.

(11,898 posts)the false narrative perpetrated by Trump and his followers that Biden is a senile old man (even though he is not cognitively impaired like Trump and actually has solutions to improve the lives of Americans). 2/ The need to attract younger voters.
