Unfortunately, it wasn’t an act. This was real terrorism. Poor Paul woke up from sleep to be attacked in the head with a hammer by a deranged terrorist.

How about labeling it as domestic terrorism?

Those two words terrify politicians of all stripes, it seems. But we're never going to be able to do anything about it until we start calling it what it is!

And I'd vote for closer to 50 years for this guy. Not only was he not even involved with government, but he's a senior citizen. I'd think you could place this under a hate crime, as well, against the elderly.

In this case it is used in a legal sence meaning a thing someone did. And it was indeed an act od terrorism.

Has he had a psych evaluation?
I only say this, is because there are people who are extremely mentally unstable and have never been diagnosed.
There's mean, cruel monsters and there's people who have brains that are horrible....and not their fault.

In some of the states where I've worked with people who were convicted, there is a complete workup of evaluations, profiles, etc., of the person and it all goes into a huge book with other information on the case.

However, I recall reading an article about this guy and it was one of those cases where he got sucked into the propaganda web they've so extensively created in this country.

but he was determined, strong-willed, and defiant. He struck the blow after police arrived. Right in front of police, when told to let go of his weapon, he struck Paul Pelosi. It's like saying, "No. I came to injure and I will."

Angry that Nancy was not there. Angry that police were there. So, do as much harm as possible, quickly, before police could stop him.

I'd give the SOB life without parole. He's too dangerous to ever be free.

I don't see that, but it was kidnapping, assault, maybe attempted murder. That should add up to more than a week.

I remember he said and did things that would make it difficult to establish his exact motivation.
