Dunn Meadow has been a free speech zone since the 1960's with seldom a problem and generally small groups for whatever the protest. There were Die-In protests there in early 70s, but that's about as peaceful as it gets. With all the deaths of Children in Gaza, both sides, a Die-In might be a totally appropriate protest anywhere now.
