After listening to much of the testimony in this Tr**p trial - it makes one wonder what other crimes these people got away with that we haven't yet discovered?
What other crimes were covered up? Who else did they pay off? What additional fraudulent activities did they get away with?

(24,435 posts)Trump was basically committing subornation of perjury, for which Cohen went to prison for.
The White House was being run like a mafia family. Sickening. Our entire system of government had spent 240 years keeping this type of corruption out of the White Huse and here it was out in the open with Trump.

(197,180 posts)WASHINGTON Former President Donald Trump's businesses and inaugural committee have reached a deal to pay Washington, D.C., $750,000 to resolve a lawsuit that alleged the committee overpaid for events at his hotel and enriched the former president's family in the process, according to the District of Columbia's attorney general.
Racine has said the committee misused nonprofit funds and coordinated with the hotel's management and members of the Trump family to arrange the events. He said one of the event's planners raised concerns about pricing with Trump, the president's daughter Ivanka Trump and Rick Gates, a top campaign official at the time.
Gates, a former Trump campaign aide who cooperated in the special counsel's Russia investigation, personally managed discussions with the hotel about using the space, including ballrooms and meeting rooms, the attorney general's office has said. In one instance, Gates contacted Ivanka Trump and told her that he was "a bit worried about the optics" of the committee paying such a high fee, Racine said.
Prosecutors say the committee could have hosted inaugural events at other venues either for free or for reduced costs but didn't consider those options.

(197,180 posts)Last month, the committee that ran President Donald Trumps inaugural festivities released basic details about its revenues and spending. Trump raised $107 million, almost twice the previous record, and spent $104 million. The committees tax filing showed that $26 million of the spending went to an event planning firm started in December by a friend of the First Lady.
We found one more thing that set this inauguration apart: Some of the donations are almost impossible to trace. As the Center for Responsive Politics reports, two dark money groups, which do not disclose their donors, gave $1 million each. Trumps inaugural committee appears to have been the first to accept significant donations from dark money groups.
There are also, of course, many donors we do know about. Like other presidents, Trump raised millions from corporate contributions and wealthy individuals. The securities and investment industry contributed the most, nearly $15 million. Other top industries included real estate, casinos, oil and gas, and mining each of which later benefited from various presidential initiatives and policies. The existence of a contribution, of course, doesnt mean thats the reason for a policy change.

(26,607 posts)We know he got away with a lot more business fraud in the civil trial. He never received criminal charges from those obvious crimes as well. He also got away with campaign finance violations. He also got away with 10 counts of obstruction of justice in the Mueller investigation. He also nearly got away with the current trials charges as the actual limitation passed but I believe there is an exemption due to covid shutdowns. This will likely be appealed if when he's found guilty, I think.

(549 posts)It just seems so clear to me, the entire pattern. Someone checked out the top secret material. Trump has the system break down so its not returned, then he takes it from the White House. Do you think that the White House doesn't know what he took ? What about acomplicies ? Then he lets it leak that he has top secret documents. Just a brazen criminal the whole way.
