George Stephanopoulos Brings House Down With First Thing He'd Ask At Biden-Trump Debate

ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos admitted it’s highly unlikely that he’ll moderate one of President Joe Biden’s newly announced presidential debates with presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, given how Trump is currently suing Stephanopoulos for defamation.

But Stephanopoulos told “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Wednesday that he’d be glad to take the gig. And the journalist earned a massive cheer from Colbert’s audience when he shared what his very first question to both candidates would be.

“Who won the last election?” Stephanopoulos said. “I hope that’s the first question.”

Trump, of course, continues to baselessly claim the 2020 election was stolen from him.

50 states and the District of Columbia certified the 2020 election results. Trump lost. Asking this question IMHO opens the door to doubt, that there may have been some irregularities that affected the result. It validates Donnie's position - and if you even let him get a toe in he's going to rampage through the entire underpinnings of our democracy. Don't give him even the slightest chance to repeat his lies.

Zero accountability. A remotely responsible media would have said hey you got us to waste all that ink and airtime over literally nothing, you never even had investigators in Hawaii you lied about everything and you knew it was all a lie. No more air time for you, nothing without triple verification.

Yeah right. The media thought cool, use and abuse us more please, our reputation means nothing.

Trump is an accused criminal under indictment in multiple jurisdictions for multiple crimes. He tried to overthrow our government and the will of the people and install himself king. He’s an insurrectionist.

"Who do you think won the last election?

That way it's not about what happened, but what are their states of mind on the matter.

Trump would come off looking dishonest or delusional to most people, and Biden would tell the truth.

A debate / contest / election is meaningless to TFG—why play debate when every answer will be he’s willing to participate in an election he already calls a sham.

The suggestions write there’s a better question. There isn’t one. The only best question is to not ask the idiot one to begin with. It’s pointless. He’s a moron playing the role of a fascist because he’s in debt.

Unless it's followed up with the goods. Because that one is yesterday's news and we all know he claims it was stolen.

Here a better one: where's the proof? You've had nearly 4 years and not a shred of evidence. You can't even tell us in what way it was stolen? Which vote totals were wrong? Did they count wrong? Or did some people vote in the wrong state or more than once?

How is it that years later you still have zero evidence?

Mr Trump, you claim that you declassified all of the documents that you removed from the White House.

WHY would you declassify secrets about our nuclear weapons, strengths and weaknesses of our allies defenses, identities of our secret intelligence assets, war plans, and a host of other things useful to our adversaries? And why would you share these secrets with people who did not have security clearances?

And there will be a million flabbergasted media think pieces about “how DARE Trump would say that” and “omg how unprecedented” and Stephanopolis will feign outrage and surprise. (If he indeed is legitimately surprised or outraged, then I proffer that he’s to damn naive for his job, but what do I know?)

Biden will comment that the Dow hit 40k under his watch, and the media will lambast him for being braggadocios.

After that, the head editor of the NYT will pen an op-ed about how the American public deserves what they get, but don’t forget to resubscribe to Wordle!

What's Joe going to say but, "I won it". Trump would turn the response into a shit show at which time the current president should calmly remind the audience beyond the cameras he has more important things to do than listen to Trump's ravings and then just walk away.
