Its nuts that it has taken three and a half years for Alitos insurrectionist Jolly Roger to be reported especially since the article makes it clear that the neighbors who photographed it consider him a blight not just on their cul de sac but on the republic.
End snip.

(9,717 posts)"Recently" is intentionally vague. If recently was 3 years ago, the reporting delay appears complicit. If recently is 3 days or even 3 weeks, it probably represents professional follow up and verification of sources. Surely the Times staff and editorial board know their reputation for impartial reporting has fallen under a cloud. They should not currently operate on the assumption that their motives and practices will always be trusted and would do well to be more transparent.

Because shes a snowflake. The GOP tried to used that to attack the Ds on the committee, but now we hear what a viper she can be.

And yes I know somehow, the NYT was recently handed the pic (but one might expect WaPo got one sent to them back in 2021 since there was apparently a brouhaha going on in that neighborhood).

What kind of man blames his wife for something he should be doing -- "hauling up the flag"?
nuxvomica
(14,197 posts)The combination is ugly. I suppose it could work but not the way this suburban monstrosity was designed.
Also, if the NYT can't be more specific than "recently" it should only be to protect a source but that seems unnecessary in this context. It's more likely they are hiding how long they sat on the story.

(234 posts)So that argument--that it was his wife's fault--is totally disingenuous. If he disagreed with the display, he would have immediately removed it. That neither he nor his wife did so says volumes.
