Those voters who are still voting for Haley aren’t showing their support for her but
are showing deep anti-Trump feelings.

I think Nikki believes that Trump’s criminal and civil crimes will stop his run for
President. She is manipulative shit.

I think the campaign wants him to pick her but he doesn't and he'll veto any chance.

1. The second he picks her, the media and Democrats will run on loop all the awful comments she's said about him over the last four years. He'll be asked about those comments. It'll be 100x worse than what we saw with Biden-Harris when Harris was selected. His ego won't handle that.

2. He can't trust her. Trump wants a yes-man, someone who will have his back no matter what. Haley hasn't had his back no matter what. Tim Scott? Vivek? They have - not Haley. If he says he wants to nuke Greenland, he expects his VP to say, "great idea, Sir!" and maybe Haley would but I don't think Trump trusts she would. He also doesn't want someone like Mike Pence again and Haley is closer to Pence than any of the other candidates.

My guess is that the campaign has done polling and the traditional campaign apparatus has determined Haley is their best path forward and without her, they are potentially in trouble. But Trump has to sign off on it and I don't think he can be convinced to select her. Trump won't pick someone he can't trust, who has a serious record of bad-mouthing him and will be seen as a pick to boost his chances (he would never concede he needed the help of anyone).

I don't think this has anything to do with her being Trump's running-mate. She was at a forum and answered a question. She didn't proactively release a statement, which I agree with the OP, could suggest she's cozying up to being Trump's running-mate or a deal has been struck.

I don't think she'll be his running-mate.

he wants millions from her. he always wants abject humiliation. he has to be seen as the alpha dog where your loss is his gain. not just the top dog - the only dog standing.

If he cant pee into your mouth in public while wiping sand in your eyes and make you thank him and say it was the best you ever tasted, he isn't happy and will find something worse.

She knows that. I don't think she wants any part of it. Plus, she senses he will lose, and then there will be more indictments and more shit for years.

She just wants his base, or what she can get of what's left of the gop that still aligns with him. She wants 2028, or 2032, or whenever he finally drools himself into oblivion.

He will go either with vance, or with Ivanka. I'm thinking Ivanka will be the daark horse here. She is slowly being brought back to life and is in surprising strong shape from a public perception standpoint. He doesn't have to worry about her. And she doesn't have a thing to fear from him.

All the kids have apts owned by the trump org. I doubt they sold princess's pad when she moved to florida. She likely maintains an address there.

Just like cheney had a hunting cabin in montana, they have a second address they can shuffle off to. They probably still have an apartment in DC or Maryland as well. I doubt they sold that when tsf left office. And they probably have an apartment in chicago as well. Why not. It's a tax deduction.

Not an insurmountable problem.

Haley has always been an opportunist, who will sell her own soul if it will put her ahead.. Like she did when she gave up her governorship to for that UN ambassador job. She's positioning herself for 2028, which means staying in the relative good graces of what is left of her party. If it means ingratiating herself to those lunatics, she has no problem doing so. She is, and has always been as phony as a three dollar bill.

As for the VP spot, I agree it's FAR more likely to be Vance. I can't see any woman getting the slot, including Haley or Ivanka, though. Too many misogynists in that party.

If she attaches herself to him and they lose, that's the end for her. Even if they win, many people like her because she is the non-Trump standout among all the other ass kissers, and she would lose that.
