Geographically it's most of the planet. I didn't know this until today
Here is a link that purports to show nations that have recognized the Palestinian State as legitimate (which is not to say that terrorist groups working in Palestinian territory are legitimate).

(22 posts)Have you noticed that the majority of the nations not recognizing Palestine are or have been colonial powers.

(1,788 posts)nations, where the popular narrative was that there was strong resistance to Nazism, but the history suggests the nations attempted to survive within occupation. I think this may be an origin of guilt about the Jewish Holocaust

(16,745 posts)Its a win for both. Israel can let Palestinians run their own government and property. It would be a positive on both countries. Palestinians can run their own thing without Israels interference. Israel wont have to worry about Palestinians politically or financially. I think if would be amazing.

(32,402 posts)There was no effort at Oslo to resolve the core issues of the conflict such as borders, Palestinian refugees, and the status of Jerusalem. As far as 67 goes the pre-67 borders are a non-starter. Aggression has consequences.

Can't wait.

(2,464 posts)That's not to say there won't need to be negotiation on borders and stuff, but they can't just be an Israeli prison forever.
Maybe Ireland and all can help get the ball rolling with recognition.

(1,788 posts)So The Dakota are a NATION of aboriginal people in North America. They no longer control the territorial borders of their country.
Rather, the live on remnants of their country (aka Reservations).
Israel has acted as if putting Palestinians on such reservations was a solution. Unfortunately, the Palestinians as a NATION reject colonial-based solutions that disenfranchise them.
This is the power of THE HOLOCAUST. No other nation on earth is allowed to use that phrase. It's is the key that unlocks Jewish control after many hundreds of years of absence from territorial control.
And it is revealed by all those old-colonialist nations of western Europe. Nations that had no 'RIGHT" to carve up maps to disenfranchise Palestinians in favor of European Survivors of the European based holocaust. That map just makes it look like western Europe wanted to get the Jewish Refugee Problem off their official business.

The same is true of Russian attacks on Ukraine and Russian attacks on Georgia. Chinese and Nepali, Yemeni and Saudi, The sides in the conflict in Eritrea, etc.
That map show a lot of countries that have unfriendly/hostile relationships with their neighbors. Nonetheless all those green countries recognice Palestinians as a nation.
