Of course, he does that now. He’s probably not best candidate for AG, but there are worse.

He specializes in civil rights cases, and is clearly quite passionate about his work. But the job of AG is as the administrator of a very large agency - a manager, not a trial lawyer. The AG doesn't try cases (that work is delegated to staff U.S. attorneys of a particular jurisdiction) or argue appeals (the Solicitor General's office handles those). Historically, attorneys general have had experience as federal prosecutors and/or judges. Crump is good at what he does, but I can't see him as an administrator.
