I was over behind Globe life field baseball stadium today and this walked across in front of me and went under a bridge and on down the creek.
I got a good look at it as it was about 40 feet in front of me and it had no hair at all, I ran over to the bridge and got a couple of pictures from a distance.
It's blurry but you can see it, is it a coyote with the mange possibly ?

(8,072 posts)I'd heard of the Chupacabra legend and saw a few pseudo science things about it on tv a long time ago. But I didn't know anyone had realized the Chupacabra was actually a mangey Coyote.
DU is fantastic, I learn something new here every day.

(8,072 posts)Her face suddenly started to lose fur. The Vet took a skin scrape and verified it was mange, caused by (IIRC) mites. It didn't seem to bother her at all - no itching or rubbing.

Don't know how to convince a coyote to rub its back and sides on something like that, though.
Cattle do it because it feels good. A coyote should be at least as clever as a cow.
