Jennifer Schulze @NewsJennifer 52mSo Justice Alito's version of events DOES NOT HOLD UP. ⤵️
"A text message and the police call corroborated by Fairfax County authorities indicate, however, that the name-calling took place on Feb. 15, weeks after the inverted flag was taken down"

"The police ... received an unusual phone call on Feb. 15, 2021. A young couple claimed they were being harassed by the wife of a Supreme Court justice.
Somebody in a position of authority needs to talk to her and make her stop.
And this sure sounds like Martha is a bit unhinged. Yelling, chasing her neighbors & spitting at them?!
Wow.

Chris Hayes @chrislhayes
The "I hoisted the coup flag becaue the neighbors called me a nasty word" story never really made sense, but well...
"the justice told Fox News that his wife hoisted the flag in response to Ms. Badens vulgar insult. A text message and the police call corroborated by Fairfax County authorities indicate, however, that the name-calling took place on Feb. 15, weeks after the inverted flag was taken down."
Still dont get why she hoisted the coup flag! The best I can tell from facts reported here is that after Jan 6., liberal neighbors put out yard signs saying Jan 6 was bad, and Mrs Alito decided to put up a symbol whose meaning was the opposite?

(18,509 posts)Because the Alitos did not wash out the returnable glass milk bottles properly, and the milkman was angry.
Hey Alito there are no door to door milkmen any more.
Oh that's right. Then it must have been the newspaper boy. He must have been angry because we did not tip him enough for the early morning newspaper deliveries.
Yes,.. yes,.. that's the ticket. That damn newspaper boy. You know we always suspected the newspaper boy might be a MAGA Fascist. That is why my wife hated to tip him.

(14,896 posts)Facts:
1. Republicans lie. It is a requirement. Even their policies are lies.
2. trump's cult lies. They are insane. They start conspiracy theories. They believe anything trump says. Facts and data are like kryptonite to them.
3. Both groups want the U.S. to be a theocracy run by corporations who pay zero taxes.
4. Both groups are a threat to the U.S..
5. Both groups have been infiltrated with white supremacists, white nationalists, 3 per centers, 1 per centers, theocrats, Nazis and many other vile groups.

(9,067 posts)They claimed covid fears, but Alito and Thomas had wives who engaged in anti-Biden actions, and just as likely skipped the ceremony for partisan political reasons.
Breyer, at 82 years of age, was probably the only one of the 3 whose concerns were solely health related.
Of course, at the time, we didn't know the 2 Republican's backstories.
