They never point out that Sen Menendez (D-NJ) is currently on trial in Federal Court for bribery. I haven't seen any GOP Senators or Congressmen protesting outside that court house, have you? Thinking rationally for a moment: Given the Senate is currently tied 50 -50, why would a "partisan" Justice Department be trying to jail a sitting Democratic Senator?
Additionally, the House of Representatives' margin is also razor thin, yet "Biden's" Justice Department has indicted Henry Cuellar (D-TX) on corruption charges. Haven't seen any GOP protests about that either.
This Republican talking point, as most are, is just a bunch of hooey.

(10,865 posts)has been weaponized. As usual, the GOP's projection is spot on. The January 6th committee made it clear that the GOP in general and Trump specifically used the Justice Department to push their agenda. From the Comey testimony against Clinton just prior to the election to the effort by Asst. AG Jeffery Clark to push the fake electors, scenario to the effort by AG Bill Barr to dismissing the criminal referral over Ukraine. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
So yes, the DOJ was weaponized by Rep. Cloud's party and he supported every single one of their efforts. Cloud is not only a liar but basically a useless US Representative that is just as bad as the Representative he replaced - Blake Farenthold.
While many Texans concentrate on national politics, and that is important, it would be much better for all Texans, including myself, to concentrate on cleaning up this damn mess we have here in Texas. The last 30 years, since the election of Gov. George W Bush, has been a downhill slide into basically a disgusting cesspool of GOP elected officials.

(18,515 posts)... whitewashing, then trashing, and finally concealing from the public the Mueller Report that we paid for. It still remains heavily redacted and withheld from full review by the public.
Team trDUMP normalized deception and weaponization of the Department of Justice which also includes weaponization of the federal courts.

(9,068 posts)He has already said he'll be a dictator, and prosecute his enemies. How much more of a statement to weaponize the DOJ could that be?
What was once will again be if Trump is reelected.
Remember, Trump expects complete loyalty from everyone, while he is loyal to no one. He has a callous disregard for those who don't fall down at his feet.

(28,369 posts)They think they can convince their women that five inches is really eight too. Theyre just so full of shit - they think that there are clauses in all of the Law which restrict prosecution for Elected Republican officials, their donors, and their staff.
Thats why they can repeat the sentence I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue, no penalty for anything.
Perhaps Trump should receive a Distinguished Service Medal for fucking a porn star WHO DIDN'T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH HIM. Imagine that, unable to seduce a hot porn star in his hotel room - a Dickless billionaire (sic) he had to undress himself and lie prone like a national Lampoon/MAD Magazine version of Burt Reynolds in Playgirl. Must have been a real photo opportunity wasted 🤮. Then he had to PAY $130000 for the act, about $10,000.00 a second. Expensive at one-tenth the price. But thats the Art of the Deal. His own personal Vietnam was avoiding chlamydia from women or worse. Risky business.
What a total load of bullshit.
