(384 posts)An acquittal requires all 12 jurors to vote "not guilty"
A guilty verdict requires all 12 jurors to vote "guilty".
A hung jury means a unanimous vote could not be reached.
Due to the evidence presented, all expert analysis has been that the best outcome Trump could hope for is a hung jury. If that was a possibility, the jury would take far longer to deliberate as it is their primary duty to reach a verdict.
The relatively short jury deliberation points to a likely guilty verdict.

(45,008 posts)As for quick deliberations, that can go either way. I knew that OJ's jury would acquit quickly if only to avenge their nine months of incarceration. And based on the questions the jury sent out to the court during the Harvey Weinstein trial, I suspected that there was negotiating to acquit him of the top charge in exchange for convicting him of the lesser ones.
ON EDIT (Seven minutes later): Not even I was expecting guilty on ALL counts.
