They're obligated by political, financial, familial, business, religious ties to support the cult leader who wants to usurp power and mostly money so the entire cult is marginally better off financially. It's an inside heist. They perceive themselves as having to pay for the "others" who they learn to hate. Their world is a survival-of-the-fittest, Darwinian every-man-for-himself struggle. Why do they hate us and our country? Because they don't want to live in the future we are creating. They want to live in some fantasy past where every neighborhood is a copy of "Leave it to Beaver", black folks know their place and women didn't have sex for fun.

Most of us (from "Boomers" on to Gen A) have a rather sullen child who never wanted to grow up in us. The one who still wants to be the center of attention, who wants to be indulged because we didn't need to share our world with others for the most part.
But we grew up. We live in a world where we are aware we share it with everyone and everything going on around us that has their own meanings, and we try to make the world better for all of us.

MAGAts don't want to, and both Trump and the whole Prosperity Gospel/Christian Nationalist philosophy cater to that desire; that You, Mr. Well-Off or Mr. White Guy, are Kings within Gawd's universe, and You, Ms. Well-Off or. Ms. White Girl, are a Princess, and the rest are peasants who are only tools existing to worship and serve you.

Maybe a bit of hyperbole, but every single MAGA I've ever met are emotionally young teenagers who grew up physically into some form of reasonably successful adult, but they still carry some of that confused resentment in that somehow, their adulthood isn't working out the way they were told it should be TV trope world (do what you want in a good guy gets rewarded/bad guy gets punished), because those other uppity people seem to be getting free passes to do whatever they want without getting punished.
