I was getting ready to go to Florida in 2000 when Bush v. Gore came down. I did go to Florida in 2004 as part of Kerry Edwards voter protection team and I have been volunteering on voter protection efforts ever since.

I blame the arrogance of the people in urban areas who ignored the please of those of us who have been terrorized by the behavior encouraged by the rhetoric for decades.

might have not actually served in an elected office, but the incessant cesspool of propaganda that he spewed on a daily basis poisoned and permanently damaged the minds of million of his listeners. These listeners (some of whom became candidates) then voted for those espousing similar views and this eventually resulted our current nightmare. While there were many mistakes by progressive leadership in the past, conceding the AM dial/programming to right wing media was one of the worst.

and only with the rise of T45 has the population at large experienced what rural liberals have been suffering from for 4 decades now. The damage to the nation’s psyche will take generations to recover from. If indeed it is possible to recover from it.
