Tuberville remains consistent

Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville and seven other Republican senators pledged to no longer cooperate with the Biden administration in what they called a "project to tear this country apart."

"We are no longer cooperating with any Democrat legislative priorities or nominations, and we invite all concerned Senators to join our stand," Sen. Mark Lee (R-Utah) said.

The pledge declared "we will not 1) allow any increase to non-security related funding for this administration, or any appropriations bill which funds partisan lawfare; 2) vote to confirm this administration's political and judicial appointees; and 3) allow expedited consideration and passage of Democrat legislation or authorities that are not directly relevant to the safety of the American people."

They're throwing a tantrum.

Tuberville should be familiar with a promise of lethargy. His biggest national impact came courtesy of his long obstruction of approval for vacant military positions. He opted for doing nothing there, too

When Tuberville coached college football, he was known for creating a stink before leaving town. Among his most derided characteristics were accusals that he liked to coast, that early success inevitably give way to complacency.

So maybe Tuberville has decided to go with his strength. Why win over voters by achieving something when you can reap their allegiances by doing nothing? All while your personal financial portfolio runs wild. Obstructive politics is a better gig than coaching football.

"Vote for me! I won't do a damned thing!"

Their voting base is so afraid of the federal government that the republicans are only in Washington to be a block between the Democrats coming for their guns and rights and their voters. They don’t even pretend anymore to be doing anything.

Tuberville thinks the three branches of government are "the House, the Senate and executive."
