Establishing a base in the SF mayoral race with office space

A strategic play to reach voters in an unfamiliar corner of The City? Or was the rent just cheap?

A little of column A, a little of column B.

Former interim San Francisco Mayor Mark Farrell is set to open a bustling new office in the heart of the west side Saturday, one of several candidates laying down roots across The City as the 2024 mayoral campaign swings into full gear.

To the suspicious, Farrell’s move might be a clear nod to his potential voter base — namely, single-family homeowners, of which there are plenty in and around West Portal, where his new digs are located.
