And he has bled out some followers with the conviction and ending Roe and his fascism plans. He is not gaining a single follower/voter. But you would think from what MSM tells us, that it is an even divide, half for the felon, half for Biden.

Perhaps some here are too young to remember that November night in 2016 when the world crashed. No one gave tfg a shot at winning against Hillary.
If feeling like it "can't happen here" makes feel good - go ahead. But donate and volunteer and vote anyway.

You may live in a nice blue state where the majority of the voters do think sometimes. That is not true in many states where ignorance, bigotry, and nastiness are the rule.

The judges part worked but they found out he knew nothing about governing, or much of anything but himself being what everything was all about.
But that was 2016. Have you forgotten he lost in 2020. A large majority of voters were repulsed. Biden got the most votes of any president ever....some seven million more than trump. In fact, the rethugs haven't won hardly anything since 2016. And they took snatched away abortion rights in the Dobbs decision. trump braggs aboui ti. Women and men who ove thme are still highly pissed.
And there is this also, trump, the convicted felon will lose again in Nov.

I'm glad all the people have learned to think carefully and to do the right thing. And I'm glad that no one gets their news from Faux, and all the media have stopped misleading and telling lies. Sounds like Star Trek future.
Tell you what. You cling to your hope and dreams, but go ahead an work for a Biden victory just as if you didn't think it is important to do so. You know, just to make us pessimists happy. Just pretend that you need to donate, canvass, and vote. Okay?

If you think we have it in the bag, you are mistaken. Maybe where you live, trump has no chance. But in many high electoral count states, he is doing quite well, and you can hear it every where you go. That doesn't count his gerrymandered districts, his crooked judges, his willingness to call thugs to threaten election workers and voters at minority polling sites, his packed Supreme Court, and his mega nazi office holders who aren't going to follow the rules or the law in order to install their orange dictator.
You go ahead and sleep easy without worry. But if we are going to win in November (and in January) it will be because of those who did worry about it.

By 2020 the majority of the electorate were no longer fooled as they saw how badly trump ran the country, so they vote for Biden by some 7 million more votes.

What is your authority to say that a third of the electorate are such creatures. It's cute to call names and such. But, in the adult world, the vital information is about who will vote for tfg. You truly have no idea how many voters call themselves "magat". Some who do vote for trump. Some who abhor being called that name vote for trump. It won't matter if only 5% of those who vote for trump call themselves "magat". If he gets (or steals) 51% of the electoral votes, he will be president. In 2020, there were elected republicans who defied him. They are gone. The House and the SC will bend anything they can to thwart the election.
There are several factors involved in this election that were not a part of 2020. Keep up with what is happening and you will see them. You are delusional if you think this election is "wrapped up", that trump can't possibly win. This is not the time to rest easy and deplore those who are worried about this election. Pay attention and be worried.

(5,545 posts)when it should have been completely obvious to everyone that maga stands for anti-democracy and with a buffoonish criminal at its head, about one third of voters couldn't be bothered to vote, even against obvious authoritarianism. Of those in the US electorate who did have a preference between democracy and authoritarianism, about 55% preferred democracy.
Still, many people have a need to believe that support for Trump, maga, authoritarianism is only from a small minority of the US. To me, it is like a patient fighting cancer who needs to believe that it is only a few small cells, nothing really to worry about. I personally would rather have a clear eyed and accurate assessment of the enemy, and admit the truth. But people have different styles of coping and even when this includes a need to believe something that isn't true I try to respect their needs.

Conspiracy by Big Airline Establishment to deny you the vegetarian plate you ordered that they claimed there's no record of (RIGGED!).
Choosing the platter of shit and then blaming the flight attendant for allowing you to eat it, blaming the flight attendant for poor messaging -- how were you supposed to know the platter of shit and the chicken weren't the same?
Thinking that at least you know exactly what the platter of shit is, but what if the chicken isn't very good and you'll be disappointed?
Thinking you're going to make a dramatic scene by refusing to choose to teach the airline a lesson but you're sitting in the rear and by the time the food cart gets to you all they have left are platters of shit.
The chicken just doesn't inspire you, platter of shit it is.
The chicken might be imported and taken jobs away from American chickens because of '90s trade deals, platter of shit okay.
