about political issues. I have noticed for the last several months when I get into debates with conservatives on some political video on YouTube that YouTube always allows the conservative to get the last word in the argument and then starts deleting my responses to the conservative This is very frustrating because prior to this bs censorship I used to always embarrass these conservative idiots in a long argument until they gave up. I say this because it wasn't just about winning the argument, but it was about convincing other people who were neutral that the conservative's viewpoint was wrong. I feel that is now lost with Youtube now censoring my comments. Is anybody on DU experiencing this on YouTube when debating conservatives?

(16,269 posts)Places like Talking Points Media and others were posting vile pics of Michelle Obama with a penis and Obama depicted with his hands in daughters pants
‼️ I reported and they did nothing.
They took down or suspended me for pics of Melania. The censorship protected Trump and Melania. (If her pics werent suitable for social media why wasnt it a bigger issue?!).
The largest social media platforms are Republican owned so I dont see this imbalance being corrected anytime soon sadly.

(38,952 posts)try and post something Trump said word for word they will say people could find it offensive language.
It is ok if a MAGA calls Biden a pedophile or something, but they won't post a direct quote Trump made saying it
it is offensive language.

(21,959 posts)And I can tell you that owners of channels have complete control over which comments stand, and which don't.
Therefore, a MAGAt-run channel can and will delete any comment questioning MAGA.

(787 posts)but in my case, I was arguing on the YouTube channel known as Breaking Points which is supposed to be somewhat of a neutral channel in the sense the two people who own the channel are split politically which is one is conservative while the other is liberal. They both encourage different viewpoints. What is even weirder my comments pretty much agreed with what their video was about which dealt with housing prices being ridiculous and it being the number 1 issues for young voters. I was debating with a few conservative idiots about this, and my comments get deleted which makes no sense since my viewpoint didn't go against the Breaking Points viewpoint
90 percent of the time I argue with these MAGATS on neutral channels or liberal channels about economic issues and find my comments are still getting deleted. I don't debate social issues mainly because the economic issues are the ones I'm passionate about and plus it's easier to make conservatives look flat out stupid on the economic issues where they have to take the loss and cry uncle.
I have also noticed that my comments are getting deleted on sports channels when I debate people about sports. Which leads me to believe YouTube is deliberately putting in a system to silence anybody that doesn't agree with their popular beliefs whether it's in politics, sports, entertainment, etc.

(567 posts)I have found that sometimes YT takes down stuff, and sometimes they don't. Case in point, I reported a channel whose only content was Adult Toys. The videos were not age restricted, so I reported them. YT made the content creator change the designation to restricted type content.
Another video I just reported last night, was someone doing something incredibly stupid and dangerous with a table saw. I reported it for dangerous acts, but as for now, it still stands.

(787 posts)when they cry about free speech but then silence people like me because they can't handle my viewpoints. This is terrible for the audience in Youtube because I feel people like me, and others educate the undecided when it comes to these horrible conservative viewpoints on important issues. If we are all silenced that in return makes the population dumber on a macro level.
Now if they are going to report my comments and have them deleted then I'm just going to go tit for tat and start reporting their comments to get them also deleted.

(51,921 posts)It's not just political differences that causes censoring. It happened to me on the Kdrama videos where some of the netizens love to trash and destroy popular celebrities. If I responded too many times, my posts just never made it on the site. At some point I caught on to their system. You can post an original comment, but they don't like infighting. So, if you respond to someone in a way they don't like, they'll remove your post.
The good news is that you can copy your comments out of your history section, and try to paste it again. If it doesn't work, try coming in under another name.

(787 posts)deleted on sports channels. Very petty how a lot of people can't handle arguments that go against their viewpoints.
