Why don't governors from the US West issue a warning?

I was traveling through the US West, and I can tell you this much. Overall, US West (California, Oregon, Washington), will be fish out of water in a Trump authoritarian dictatorship. Why don't governors from these states issue a warning and say they will not be standing for Trump's fascism Project 2025 agenda. Many red states are surviving only because California is the largest economy that covers up these red states deficiencies. There is a need for some kind of warning to Americans who think dictatorship is great.

...be re-elected to another term, it is likely that nascent secessionist movements already underway in a few states will spread to many others. At that point, it is anyone's guess what the outcome would be. These secessionist tendencies can already be seen in at least two small but significant ways: cannabis legalization (states ignoring Federal drug laws and scheduling), and the state-by-state patchwork of legal abortion in the aftermath of the Supreme Court Dobbs decision.

Any major traumatic national event in the next few years might result in serious conflict: another ill-handled epidemic or pandemic (say, bird flu spreading to humans), a Trump re-election (particularly if there is evidence of force or fraud), another 9/11-scale terrorist attack, etc. The conflict would likely present itself a lot more like the Troubles in Northern Ireland than it would a formal civil war.

I just do not see how the scientific community and citizens in the US West (CA, WA, OR) and the many Northeastern states and New England states can even withstand a minute of this Trump style dictatorship, Project 2025 and so on. I believe a strong warning now may help prevent a breakup. Not sure what these governors are waiting for? Most red staters are living on the productivity in blue states.

Do we have to see mayhem before these states issue a warning? I think Democrats are not taking the threat as seriously as they should. Alito Supreme Court is a mess. It irritates me to see Gallego, Rosen all doing better than Biden. What is wrong with women voters and pro-choice voters in Arizona and Nevada? How is electing Trump make any difference to the cause? How can these voters support pro-choice Gallego, anti-democracy Trump, and expect progress in a dictatorship?

I think the first warning shot need to be fires by CA and others now to save us. Governors should clearly say they will not obey orders from a fascist.

...in the major media. One can imagine the media circus that would go on for weeks if a governor of CA, OR, etc. did something like that. But the implications are clear for anyone who has eyes, and in fact it's not just the stereotypical "People's Republic" states like CA and OR and the Northeast; the upper Midwest (particularly MN) is arguably more progressive than CA these days. It's important to be aware, however, that even the most progressive "blue" states still have large "red" areas, mostly rural, and there will no doubt be serious conflict if things go to hell in the nation overall.

Yes, there will be media circus but here is Trump saying "He will be dictator on Day 1". Then there is "vermin" and "unified Reich" stuff. More than enough proof to raise alarm. A media uproar may be just the thing that wakes up sleepy voters. Mainstream media is not doing a good job. I agree about the rural areas in CA and OR but, at least, the majority will be concerned. I am just throwing out some ideas to prevent the mayhem. Obviously, our democratic advisors have not been able to raise this concern well enough. Or, maybe, the country is changing character. Even if it is changing character, a refresher course about Nazism may help.

Thanks for the discussion, by the way. You are very knowledgeable.
