(8,052 posts)1. What's the context here?
Was she trolling him?
Clearly he admits to a religious bias. Is that contrary to what he said under oath during confirmation hearings? Impeachable? What if a justice with a life-long appointment has a religious (or any, really) conversion while in office, such that he cannot plausibly rule impartially? Who does anything about it?

Impeachment and conviction, resignation/retirement, and death. Doesn't matter what they did before, during, or after their confirmation hearings. Once they are confirmed then they can only be removed in one of those 3 ways.

His comments were recorded by Lauren Windsor, a liberal documentary filmmaker. Windsor attended the dinner as a dues-paying member of the society under her real name, along with a colleague. She asked questions of the justice as though she were a religious conservative.
