7. They may be caught in a positive feedback loop

Trump voters are generally cynical, meaning they assume most other people have bad or unethical motives. This cynicism will seemingly drive them to vote for a convicted felon. Felons by definition have been demonstrated to have (or at least to have had) bad or unethical motives.

The cycle continues.
