Latest great jobs report leaves GOP leaders at a loss for words

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/latest-great-jobs-report-leaves-gop-leaders-loss-words-rcna156404

In fact, the closer one looks, the better the figures appear. Over 1.2 million jobs have been created so far this year, and if this pace keeps up, the United States will see roughly 3 million new jobs this year, which is extraordinary. Based on the latest data, American job growth across the first five months of 2024 is better than the first five months of any year of Trump’s presidency.

At a campaign rally in Nevada yesterday, the presumptive Republican nominee insisted, with apparent sincerity, “A hundred percent of the new jobs have gone to illegal aliens.”

Reality, of course, tells a very different story, but at least Trump said something. What did we hear from GOP leaders on Capitol Hill? In keeping with the recent trend, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Mike Johnson responded to the job numbers by saying literally nothing about the good news. No press releases, no tweets, and no public comments.

It appears that the American job market is so good, Republicans have literally found themselves speechless — again.

Particularly murders and the long-ignored infrastructure projects going on, all this "American Carnage" may be too much for them to handle.

It must be all the immigrants taking the jobs and rebuilding our country.....

3. GOP's traditional answer to Democrats' good job findings:

Kill the Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.

Promise voters THEY will be MUCH BETTER if elected and allowed to pass their policies.

Reagan promised prosperity if he could drastically cut federal taxes.

Shrub had a budget surplus when he took office. But instead of keeping it for fiscal fitness, he gave it away in small checks. "It's YOUR money." He looked like Santa Claus.

Signed by shrub, I sent it off to the Florida Democratic Party with the hope of preventing a repeat of the 2000 debacle. Maybe it helped...sort of...since President Obama did win the state in 2008. It's been shit since, though. Now I wouldn't even step foot in the nasty-ass state.

1.2 million new workers means more money flowing directly to businesses and savings.

possibly 3 million for the year. Added to the inclreases from the previous years that is a lot of incresed economic activity.

they had a story with the record breaking numbers of people travelling by air yesterday. All I could think of when I saw photos of all those people at the airport is, "I thought we were in a recession and that the price of eggs is prohibitive?"

However, the next story up was about how the election is "neck and neck" between the Convicted Felon and President Biden.

and a depressed economy so they can take the reins of government again? They already screwed up the Supreme Court by their jury-rigging the Supreme Court picks when they refused to confirm Garland for the Supreme Court...They tilted the scales and thus, they deserve nothing, no credit for nothing, no credit for the growing economy, the growing numbers of employed persons, COVID seems to be a lesser evil, and the world is once again, listening to the U.S. We're respected on the world stage. tRUMP ruined that w/ his foul mouth and proved that he is/was a terrible president, if not the worse ever.
