will lose the immunity case.
Alito and Thomas will dissent.
M$Greedia will then attempt to convince us that this partisan Supreme Court is fair and balanced.

(7,414 posts)I know its a different world, and I cant believe Im about to say this, and DJT doesnt have Nixons principles but dropping out of the race after a SCOTUS ruling, before losing any more trials and before losing in November allows him to retain his narcissistic fantasy image.
Hell be able to keep his Im a winner self-image while blaming the world around him for what he doesnt have. And, IMHO, it wont diminish his role as cult leader, running almost a shadow government.
In fact, if the House stay red and/or the Senate turns red
he may be the de facto leader of the Legislative branch by virtue of his mind control game with the cult.
He wont be POTUS but hes going to be a threat to democracy independent of SCOTUS ruling and independent of the election results.

(7,414 posts)Hell lose in November.
And hell anoint MAL as the Southern White House (or some other bullchit name) where hell summon and direct virtually every republican legislator. Hell use the presidential seal on his podiums and lapel buttons and cocktail napkins. He will not get elected but I guarantee he will act out as if he were because, you know, election interference/stolen votes/blah blah blah.
While he draws breath, hell be the de facto leader of the opposition party
and in this case itll be a party opposing democracy.
Its definitely going to be Whatthefuckistan for a while.

(20,984 posts)He will go after those he nominated, thinking he had them in his pockets, for going against his plans.
It will be Thomas and Alito who will continue to have the spotlight on them, backing a DICKtator wanna-be in favor of violating the very US Constitution they swore to properly interpret and uphold. Chief Justice John Roberts wants to preserve what relevance the US Supreme Court still has left.
Should Joe Biden squeak out a win in November, and I think he will, Thomas and Alito are fucked. For as the saying goes, "The cat has been let out of the bag" regarding their own ethic scandals. Nothing may happen. But the damage to their reputations has already begun.
