Is that what we can expect if they get into office?
Americans, please vote against the legalization of machine guns by voting AGAINST REPUBLICANS.

(13,352 posts)For some reason, they think they can destroy democracy and kill off all the undesirables whereupon localized compounds run by petty political oligarchs can be set up under some council of the super wealthy Elect. All the grunt work and service work will be technology provided by the compliant technocrats, so the drastic reduction of population won't be felt by those left behind.
And they honestly believe they're going to be able to have the same quality of life they currently have under our current large, diverse, messy, regulated democracy, only without the large population, diversity and regulations.
Sort of like they think it will go go down like: A = A Civil War against all the wimpy, corrupt Liberals and laws they don't like + B = Bang, bang, booms and shrapnel, and after the smoke clears, all the infrastructure is still in place and working; which all ends up at C = Conservatives win and make a new Kingdom of Heaven in perpetuity and everyone is happy in the social position they're really supposed to be in.
There are no consequences, no "in the long run" in the world of the modern GOP. Only the cynical battle for power and quick profits.

(89,498 posts)...when they voted to decriminalize someone driving into a crowd of protesters?
That "cars aren't weapons."
You drive either one into a crowd of protesters and the effect is the same.
But who thought up this silly analogy between cars and machine guns, anyway?

(3,816 posts)can cause multiple deaths if misused, and it's easier to buy a car than it is a machinegun.
