the honor and respect of even a visit to the Oval Office. OTOH, this must have galled Romney beyond belief, lol. I guess Queen Ann was too busy cancelling all the drapes & carpeting she ordered. I still remember that presumptious, premature, prom-updo party hair she was sporting after the concession speech. It looked a little mussed up, though, probably from the tantrum she threw when she found out that it wasn't "their turn" after all. I wouldn't be nearly this "petty" if Romney had run an honorable campaign with even a speck of integrity.

Obama's is the "less-optimistic rug" as compared to the rug from George W. Bush's Oval Office (left) with its radiant lines that move out from the presidential seal.

so the new president has to order one. I imagine after 8 years of heavy office traffic, it's OK for home use but needs replacement.

I preferred the darker designs, the seal in either a navy or maroon field. I imagine the off white shows less schmutz.

The rays did nothing for me. I thought they cheapened it.

W!

As for replacing the rug, I think there are a few reasons for it.

1. It's kind of a statement that "there's a new sheriff in town."

2. Almost anyone in a high position gets to redecorate their office just as a matter of taste.

3. I think it's fair to have our president set up in an office with nothing the least bit shabby in it. A rug can get a bit shabby after 8 years of use. Especially if Karl Rove had been in the room often.

Those lines made that rug look busy and cluttered. I always thought it was gaudy and ostentatious. I like the current, more simple rug. It's not distracting like its predecessor.

are so different. I finally decided that the difference is that Obama stands on his toes, looks comfortable and poised, while Romney stands on his heels, looks stilted and uneasy. It's a vivid illustration of the differences between the two men. America made the right choice.

Yep. That's it.
