And I haven't seen anything about electronic counter-measures by the Biden camp.
Earpieces are radio waves, right?
Can't they be jammed?
I still think trump will not debate.
He's close to melt-down right now.

(130,516 posts)assuming he shows up in the first place. All this discussion of earpieces and jamming or whatever is silly (and even if any of this was feasible, do you really think Biden's people would publicly discuss "countermeasures" ?) - for the simple reason that Trump would never agree to do it. Not because he wouldn't cheat, because cheating is how he rolls, but because he doesn't think he'd need to do it. He thinks he's smarter than everyone else and wouldn't need any help from an aide talking into his earpiece. And his staff also knows that even if they could talk him into it and get away with it, he's incapable of understanding and using whatever data or talking points they give him. He wouldn't listen and couldn't comprehend any of it anyhow.
Think. Again.

(11,780 posts)I still think he will bail out. If he has a melt down on stage or off the rethugs will say Biden did something. Poisoned him, drugged him, the sky is the limit for these crackpots.

(130,516 posts)is the notion that Trump knows he can't compete with Biden in a debate, or that he would need help to defeat him. But Trump thinks he's smarter than anyone else. He wouldn't accept help from staff prompting debate responses into his earpiece because he doesn't think he needs help. He has never sought advice from staff, even from his own lawyers when he's the defendant in a criminal trial, and he generally ignores or rejects it when it's offered. Why would this be any different?
Think. Again.

Yes, electronic counter-measures are possible, but problematic without knowing what frequency your opponents are transmitting on....
IMHO.
I'll leave it to any electronics experts to sort it out beyond that.

(10,333 posts)Hell, he can't even put together a coherent verbal message on his own or even with the help of a teleprompter. Zero chance he can do it while someone is talking in his ear. Too much processing power needed and that brain is running on empty.
Everyone should calm down.

Hell, if they try to do that, it may actually work to our advantage!

(130,516 posts)someone talking to them live along with someone giving them information through an earpiece, which they then have to process into a response to the live question. That's why I never thought Bush was bugged during the 2004 debate either, despite the odd-looking lump on his jacket. He couldn't have handled it and he's smarter than Trump.
