But the question I have: Is the Trump Campaign still paying for favorable polls?
As I recall, during the last campaign, Trump was even paying for online polls. Anything that showed him ahead or favored was worthy of his attention. Although online polls are probably the most untrustworthy of all polls, he still wanted it to show that he was winning.
Is the campaign still manipulating any of these polls? Would any legitimate pollsters take money from Trump to show that he was tied or ahead of Joe Biden? Perhaps none of them would take money from a campaign, but with Trump, it is worthy of attention, in my opinion.

Shame on that pastor to give TSF that photo-op.

(7,621 posts)It would be nice to hear that the church in question uses funds provided by Trump's misuse of their building to benefit a worthy cause. Of course, that wish is predicated on the fantasy that Trump's check would actually clear the bank. But the best irony would be that the worthy cause would be one which benefits some entity that he hates.

(6,783 posts)Ok, let's talk about other Trump-driven schemes to help him steal an election.
For a couple of years now, I have been using the USPS service to receive notifications of incoming mail and packages.
It has been a great service so that we can be on the watch for important mailings.
The feature has been changed to a new display recently (in the last couple of weeks). The screen is more cluttered and less informative.
Adding CONFUSSION.
It gets my attention when I see anything that seems to have anything to do with mail delivery.
My first thought is, what in the hell is DeJoy doing now to confuse mail delivery?
I believe DeJoy's primary mission as the Postmaster General has always been directed at the 2024 election and finding ways to SLOW DOWN or LOSE voter ballots in an effort to help 45 STEAL the 2024 election. A few lost ballots here in this voting district and here and here can add up to enough lost votes to swing a close election.

(12,506 posts)I don't think it had anything to do with the election. But if he did it for something so inconsequential, I wouldn't be surprised if he did it for something else.

(17,982 posts)Some are traditionally Republican pollsters, some Democratic.
Some pollsters never accept commissions from any party, but often work with media organizations, who fund, and then report the results using their own framing and narratives.
So, yes, I think it leans more towards conspiracy theories to suggest the Trump campaign is bribing pollsters to rig poll results, when they can just as easily pay an organization to conduct a poll with the questions and sample make up that would be favourable to them, and when the corporate media, without any enticement from the campaign, will pay for and report on polls in a manner favourable to the Trump campaign, at no cost to the campaign.
Why invent some sort of secret, underground chicanery, when the flaws and biases of many polling agencies are public knowledge?

Most polls are useless. People with brains generally won't engage.
Think. Again.

(75,210 posts)Keep in mind that a heck of a lot of conspiracy theories are true. This includes in criminal and non-criminal settings. Any time two or more people plan for a crime, for example, that is true. When investigators seek to solve crime, they come up with a theory on how those people conspired to commit the crime. If they have enough evidence, they tuen it over to the prosecutoe. "January 6" was rooted in a conspiracy. When it eventually gets to court, the prosecution's theory on the felon's role will be presented, with enough evidence to convict him.

(12,286 posts)Based on the story that came out, his attempts at rigging those polls--as inconsequential as those polls were--were unsuccessful.
At any rate, the media and any informed voters have long ago learned about those once-popular "online polls" and it seems they are hardly done anymore, or if they are, nobody pays attention to them.
