Donald Trump has lost his marginal leads in two key battleground states, less than five months before the presidential election.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee is set to face incumbent President Joe Biden in November, and polls have so far shown that the results of the 2020 White House rematch will be tight, with the pair statistically tied or holding only marginal leads in a number of surveys.
However, according to the VoteHub tracker, which aggregates the averages of polls by highly rated pollsters given a rating of "A" or "B" in the past 28 days, Trump is now behind Biden in Michigan and Wisconsin for the first time during this election cycle.
In March, Biden trailed Trump by -3.7 percentage points in Michigan, the voting tracker showed. But after closing the gap to 0.7 percent in April, the current White House occupant took the lead in May, claiming a 1 percentage point lead over his Republican rival. This has now declined to a lead of 0.8 percent as of June but is still a slim lead on Trump.

(6,606 posts)His entire campaign is one of deception. Fake polls, fake supporters, fake crowd sizes, he is only trying to portray the image that he's ahead. He assumes that everyone will want to jump on the bandwagon of the winning team. Trump thinks like a child.

I'm retired now but I remember a customer support center in Costa Rica I was providing lab support for around 9/15. After the problem was cleared he said he was worried about Tr*mp becoming president. I glibly said that American wouldn't elect a pumpkin...
The when the results came in election night, I threw up.
So I wouldn't care if Joe had a 30 point lead in the polls, I will fight like he's behind...

(26,008 posts)not for the reason you gave. He might think that people will jump on the bandwagon, but I think that he doesn't really care if he has the votes.
He projects an image of having more support than he actually has in order to create the expectation that he will win. We've been down this road with him before. Regardless of whether he actually gets the winning number of electoral votes, he will declare himself the winner. If he sets people up now to believe that he's far ahead, his claims of fraud will sound valid if he loses.

(13,474 posts)Its difficult to believe that he would not be found guilty given that most people watched his speech and encouragement for his domestic terrorists to go to the Capitol and stop the vote by Congress. A guilty verdict on interfering with election and an official government action would be hard for many voters to ignore,

(53,544 posts)It is not going to be one specific reason or reasons for voters to not support him again. More and more will say no to him.
Consider everything that has happened after the 2020 election. And didn't come out until after the election. It piled up. Trump didn't have all that dirty baggage.
