Chasing a stripper with a gun at 2:45 a.m.? If it didn't involve a Michigan GOPer, that might seem odd.

A Republican lawmaker from northern Michigan was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning after police responded to reports of a man with a gun and possible shots fired.

Neil Friske, 62, has a record as a hardline conservative and has put faith and family at the heart of his campaign to be reelected to the state House of Representatives.

He was arrested after chasing an adult dancer following a disagreement, according to the Michigan Information and Research Service, which covers the state capitol.

His campaign quickly issued a bizarre statement suggesting the case was politically motivated.

'As many of us know, Rep Friske is always exercising his Second Amendment right,' it said. ...............(more)

rather than attempting to take the law into his own hands....

(Why do reich-wingers seem to believe that the 2nd Amendment gives them the right to become judge, jury and executioner?)

But the article cites a "disagreement", not a theft.

I propose that he was dissatisfied with the duration of a lap dance,
or was presuming he was entitled to something more...

He’s not married.
At one time he was, as he has children and grandchildren.

So, a member of the party that believes in the “Sanctity of Marriage!!!,” and would love to ban divorce - is divorced.

His Republican primary opponent is all of 24 years old and just as Reich-wing nuts as the guy chasing strippers in the wee hours of the AM - while ARMED!

He slapped Friske last week for voting AGAINST a bill that would ban the use of AI or other tech in creating porn using the images of celebrities, or anyone, without consent.

There are 110 members of the Michigan House.
108 voted for the bill.
2 voted “No.”
Both of them - Republicans.
One of the 2..? Friske.

chase after a stripper with a gun and shooting at her over a "disagreement"....

More like the garden variety abuse of sex workers,
and abuse of WOMEN... by someone who was likely intoxicated

Possibly he didn't actually shoot AT her, but into the air,
hoping to invoke FEAR, but it doesn't matter. Glad she was not hit.

"Faith and family"!!!! Yeah, RIGHT.

my fave, my all-time fave, was Baby Man. Remember him? The guy who wanted to wear diapers and act like a baby.

Then he went on to become an executive in some republican scam business.

Can't recall the name at the moment.

Now diapers for men are having a comeback in the republican party.

Something about a dancer who works at the Déjà Vu gentlemen’s club.

Leaving out salacious details doesn't automatically make a report "reputable."

I suppose the reckless use of a gun is bad enough.

We shall see...

"officers were dispatched at 2:45 a.m. Thursday to the 2100 block of Forest Road in Lansing, near where public records show Friske owns a condominium." His opponent in the race for election-“He voted against protecting spouses from marital rape, voted against making child marriage illegal, voted against tax cuts for veterans — and just this past week, he voted against making it illegal to create AI 'deep fake' pornography using the likeness of our daughters and wives," Fairbairn said.

https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/neil-friske-arrest-sexual-assault-weapons-charges-michigan-1235044938/

"Authorities in Lansing, Michigan, are seeking felony-level sexual assault and weapons charges against Republican State House Rep. Neil Friske, according to records obtained by The Detroit Free Press.

The 62-year-old lawmaker was arrested in the wee hours of Thursday morning after he allegedly 'chased an adult dancer after a disagreement' while in possession of a firearm. Ingham County Prosecutor John Dewane’s office told the Free Press that law enforcement responded to reports of an armed male 'as well as possible shots that were fired.' Law enforcement learned 'of a possible sexual assault of an adult female' in their response."

So, are we to understand that the GOP now considers armed sexual assault as an expression of one's 2nd Amendment rights?
