I mean are we aware of everything that Magats are going to do to try to steal the election? A lot of it they are doing now.
We know they purge thousands of eligible voters. We know they tampered with voting machines. We know they have Magats in positions of power who will refuse to certify the election results in their precincts, they will file lawsuits. We know they will make it hard for Democrats to actually cast ballots. We know they will have machine malfunctions, not enough polling places or machines or ballots.
What I want to know is what are they going to do that we are not prepared for? The only way for a minority party to win is to cheat.
I have absolutely no doubt that President Biden will handily win a fair election, this will not be a fair election, we need to overwhelm them at the ballot box to win.

I think he meant The Democratic Party by "we
Kaleva
(40,365 posts)I dare say that the vast majority of DUers are Democrats so OP was referring to us. If he wasn't, then he should have worded it to make clear that he was talking about Party leaders at the state and federal level and "we" here are not included.
edhopper
(37,370 posts)are not the Party organization. They are the ones who must act.
We can vote, donate and volunteer.
Kaleva
(40,365 posts)Truth is, most everyone here can help prepare by volunteering to be an election worker or a poll watcher
I attended training yesterday to be a certified election worker in my state, valid for three years, and I'll be working the primary and general elections.

(32,321 posts)Nicolle usually books Marc Elias for a segment every Wednesday and he always scares the shit out of me. Elias has been fighting the cheating by filing lawsuits and fighting lawsuits across the country. Marc Elias is doing more than his part to fight for a fair election.
Our federal government has an official named Kristen Clarke, she is the head of the civil rights division of DOJ. I have not seen her name in the MSM or social media in the past 6 months, maybe my news sources missed her?
There is not enough publicity in the MSM that reveals how the Magats are cheating and are going to cheat. We need to shine a light on the cockroaches, maybe the Magats in charge of precincts who plan on not certifying votes will back off?
The insurrection did not end on J 6, 2021, it continues.

(37,370 posts)I don't think we are prepared.
I think too many Democrats just accept the shit the GOP is going to pull. Almost as if it wont matter if they don't make an issue of it.
The GOP strategy of not letting people vote will cost us.

(32,321 posts)I am serious about watching Deadline Whitehouse on Wednesdays. Nicolle Wallace is doing her part by booking marc Elias.
If Marc Elias is worried, dammit, we all should be worried and raise holy hell.

(81,266 posts)I see how the GOP operates here in my red county in a red state.
Three long time Dem voters on my street had the same experience.
We were all sent the wrong ballots last election (the abortion referendum) for mail in voting.
Then our ballots kept being rejected because we filled out the ballots they sent us.
When we went to vote in person they accused us of double voting.
It was all as set up. We didn't compare notes until later and realized it was
all the same voting scam.
Who do you raise holy hell to?
The Board of Elections is all GOP.
State Attorney General, Governor, Congress all GOP.
Even if we sued and took it up all the way to the US Supreme Court, it is GOP and corrupt.

(4,964 posts)Unfortunately, political power in the state rests with the opposition.
A March 15, 2024, Politico article by a journalist who has interviewed Sen. J. D. Vance on multiple occasions mentions that the senator has assembled a cabel of assertive young male aides to push through the next chapter in right-wing governance.

(81,266 posts)Even though the abortion rights referendum passed, the GOP is working
on a backdoor way to overturn the people's will and make abortion illegal.
They tried to keep Biden off the presidential ballot and were hoping to get the Dems
in state congress to enact an abortion ban in return for letting Joe on the ballot.
Fortunately Gov. Mike DeWine blew a gasket over this crap.
He is GOP but old school and reached his limit.
So they put Joe on the ballot and shut up about abortion for the moment.
But they will get back to it.
Ha the joke about Cleveland in the rest of the state is that it is not
really part of Ohio, but part of east coast city slickers.
The rest of the state is quite different from Cleveland.

(22,179 posts)Vote and help get people to the poles is about all we can do.Lots of CRAP is going to go down. Certain tRUMP loving states are gonna do whatever they can to stop all voting processes. Thank god we control the white house and Senate. It's gonna be a nightmare i'm sure, but we can't do much more than watch it all happen. Never felt so helpless in my life.

(96,882 posts)The Coffee County and Colorado situations happened after the election.
And before you worry too much, consider that Democrats control all the critical States we need with the exception of Georgia, where the Republicans haven't been too supportive of Trump.
