Dems should collude with #SecretSaneGOPCaucus to choose new Speaker, ousting MAGA nutbags this summer

I just posted this opinion piece on Daily Kos which might generate a little discussion ‘round these parts. What if Dems took a page out of former Sec. of Labor Robert Reich’s playbook and do a backdoor deal to get a new Speaker of the House from among the #SecretSandGOPCaucus (which isn’t really a thing as yet). This could come on the heels of the Trump sentencing. Will some brave Republican plant their flag as the leader of a new GOP 2.0, completely absent of Trumpism and the insidious Project 2025 authoritarianism plan?

I fleshed that all out, and provided a poll with no less than eight choices for how this could end up. Read up, voice your opinion on the poll there, then come back here and tell me EXACTLY what you think. And I’m comfortable with “quixotic."

but when the time comes they will fold and spill the beans to the press and blame the "sneaky Democrats" and vote to keep MAGA in charge.
