Not unlike what he did in the closing arguments of his rape trial. He IS going to have his ass handed to him and this is his way of dealing with humiliation and defeat. In his mind, the entire debate is rigged and he will have no choice but to shout parting insults into the muted mic and leave. His followers will view this as strength. Just my two cents .

(3,049 posts)all of these fantastical predictions come from?
I even saw one that thinks Trump could potentially assault Biden live on stage.

(3,049 posts)out of his mind. He may be an idiot, but he knows EXACTLY what he is doing. It's on purpose.

(22,236 posts)Anyone who rambles about non-sensical shit like he does is nuts. I don't think there is anything more to it than that.
I don't think his bullshit is part of any great 4 dimensional chess game.

(3,049 posts)completely agree that Trump isn't capable of this "4-D chess" because he's simply too self-absorbed, I disagree that he has any mental issues. They guy is actually considerably more intelligent than he portrays. That dumb-dumb act he does at his rallys and stuff is him playing a part to the types that back and support him.
Simply writing him off as being crazy is dangerous for us. He's far too big of a risk to dismiss as such.
That's just how I see it. I try to look at it at face value to better understand what we are dealing with. some of the most dangerous people ever were extremely intelligent (not that Trump is, but we should keep that in mind regardless), we shouldn't forget that.

(11,767 posts)Trump is a man who understands spectacle. That is the one talent that he has. He is a con artist. His skill has always been in being able to manipulate and shape perspective, especially among the gullible. Trump is not a planner. He has little to no skill at long term planning. He is lead by his emotions, most notably anger and fear. He is reactive.
Trump was taught both by his father and by Roy Cohn to "always fight back" and "always deny" and "never apologize or admit mistakes". Trump is driven by his desire to be seen as "the best" and his existential fear of being seen as a failure.
He is not out of control but he is definitely declining both cognitively and emotionally. If the pressure continues for him, there is a good change we will see his body or his mind give out.

(3,049 posts)is an assessment I can agree with 100%.
We can't dismiss him or underestimate his ability to attract those types of voters in very large numbers. He is absolutely skilled at the con game, it's his only real skill, and it's quite effective unfortunately.

(1,981 posts)is not restricted to the Repukes and Magats.
Some people seriously need to get outside their bubble and interact with people not so invested in and gullible to all the histrionics on social media. Many, many times I've seen outright lies easily proved wrong about Chump. Even here.
There's also an opioid epidemic still going on.

(3,049 posts)problem is, if you try to point out the gossip and hyperbole that makes us all look silly, you get called a MAGA or accused of right wing talking points. I can't counter the BS anymore, it almost cost me my account a couple of times in hidden posts.
So for the most part, I just look on and keep my mouth shut like a good boy.

(1,981 posts)I've had the same experience. But don't shut up. We need to try and keep it real here.
It's one thing for folks to post sarcasm in a really believable way, and it's another thing for people to post obviously false things just to deliberately sway the membership.
Things that make you go hmmmmm.

(677 posts)This is his perfect opportunity to take it outside. The entire media will follow him there where he can spew endlessly. He did this every day during his trial and the media ate it up. Hes already figured out that the rules dont apply to him.
ForgedCrank
(3,049 posts)think he will. His game is getting attention. Having said that, I won't promise to eat my hat if he does. I don't like the odds on that bet. He is unpredictable at times.
to Trump this isn't a debate, it's a whine and martyr rally on a grand scale..no way is that malignant narcissist going to give up a half a second of airtime..

(11,193 posts)his buttons enough so that Trump feels publicly humiliated. That might get Trump to go off the rail.

(19,065 posts)I look for his final statement (he has the last word) to be a compressed and condensed version of a rumprally. THAT'S when he'll have the opportunity to display himself - without rebuttal - in all his sickening glory.
